Rocket Armor is an incredibly intuitive VR game and with one of the best movement systems i've seen ever. Movement is a strange thing in a lot of VR games. A lot use teleportation, a weak and unimpressive form of movement. What sets Rocket Armor apart from the others is it's "rockets". You move by these back-facing rockets situated on both bottoms of the controllers. Clicking the "grip buttons" atleast on the HTC Vive activated whichever rocket you clicked on, and it flys you towards the area you pointed at. The movement is so precise that it feels completely natural and you'll understand as soon as you play the game. Clicking both at the same time activates both rockets, which is faster but it generates heat. Heat is a very important factor in this game. Using both rockets and shooting lazers both generate heat, and when the "heat meter" is full, your suit stops working for a few seconds. This, combined with the frantic "time-attack" feel of this game makes for a very enjoyable, fast-paced experience. The learning curve is a little hard. It could just be that i suck, but it took me many tries to get through the 10 tutorial levels. Going through the rings is very important, not only do you have to get through all of them to make it to the end. but each one gives you a sliver of extra time, which you really need to make it to the goal. The game ramps up the difficulty with these spiked balls that are thrown at you, which you can either shoot with your lazer or use your swords (which saves on heat, thank GOD.) Getting hit by these spiked giants can knock you off course, which is a very bad thing. This game is very enjoyable and it has one of the best movement systems i've seen in a VR game. I can't wait to see it be fully implemented when this game has its full release.

"Rocket Armor" was a garbage tier VR tech demo with delusional pricing... a minimalist low poly racing/platformer where you waved your arms around to move about then quickly uninstall before the godawfully bad VR rendering made you nauseous. This was effectively a scam... the developer had no idea what they were doing, rushed a pre-alpha onto Steam's disastrous Early Access through the equally disastrous Steam Direct, then walked away (but kept all the cash from the few sales this got). The developers abandoned this 4 years and 10 months ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. The game is really simple and unambitious in terms of implementation, more of a tech demo or one of those cases where an amateur developer spends $100 to publish something on Steam Direct to see if it's possible. Yes, obviously it's possible. A proof of concept, tech demo, or something that's less than a little blip on the radar isn't offering anything truly valuable to gamers. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D graphics which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. This game is fairly dated at 8 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. There's no initial download price, but the developer was charging an INSANE price, $14 USD for this! Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It seems like a nice gesture for the game to have no up-front cost anymore, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. This is also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who showed enough questionable judgement to pay money for this... nobody got refunded. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Since free games don't contribute to your game collector badge and other profile stuff, is this a worthwhile addition to your Steam library? Definitely not. This isn't worth it. I'm paraphrasing another reviewer here, but this should be a paid product... they'd have to pay people to download it.
Rocket Armor is an Early Access Free to play VR game where you are flying and fighting with rockets on your hands. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. The VR movement mode is Flying with thrusters on hands, no snap turns. You have swords and laser beams to defend yourself with. Has 5 steam achievements. Warning: Might cause motion sickness. CONS: Does Not work with Meta Quest 3 via Steam Link, it crashes to desktop with error. Try this game, if you wanna fly with a jetpack.
Yes.
Before I played Rocket Armor, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
