Riviera: The Promised Land

Fun game. Very linear. Basically like reading a book where you get to move the characters and attack. I play the game on the easiest settings because the story > the challenge although having both is just good stuff. OST is probably some of the best I'll ever hear in any video game including the original megaman series and I've been gaming since 94. Tetyth theme, Fierce Fight, "All you have to do is practice" (training theme), Grim Angel, and you get them in PSG which is in my opinion one of the greatest renditions of the OST. Default is good, Image is "perfect", 4/16 chords are decent, however PSG is just a different level of fire. Any theme instantly turns into something that sounds straight out of Capcom with PSG. You get extra chapters and all the bonus goodies. Definitely grab this game on sale if you can.

I love love LOVE this game so much... I already played it on the PSPS but playing it again still fills my heart with giddiness everything from the music to the characters EVERYTHING P.S. This game will batter you throughly if you have Inventory OCD (fear of using/ridding items) and will straighten you up until you're normal again. Of course, this is assuming you chose the original mode instead of the new standard (wuss-choice).

I would have given a positive review had STING not somehow ruined the vampire enemy's recolored portrait. Riviera remaster has fixed a ton of bad gameplay bugs in current version but it looks like the bad art direction is here to stay as ugly AI smoothed battle sprites/background and somehow only enemy vampires got the worst of bad coloring portrait. This remaster is based on PSP SE Japanese version for better or worse(more enemy death voices but worst battle sprites and censored swimsuit CG). As an old fan this remaster does have a few positives, character voice collection is neat but it is not organized well, only in numbers so you have to note the lines you plan to rehear. There is backlog feature, easy mode, new game +, skip battles, easier treasure chests loot. And last, alternative soundtracks from different remixed album and older versions like GBA and Wonderswan.

Dommage, c'est un jeu de mon enfance que j'ai eu sur PSP. Malheureusement pas de traduction FR, ce qui bloque l'immersion dans le jeu... Je l'avais pris en promotion, mais la barrière de la langue m'empêche de savourer le jeu. Donc je me le fais rembourser, désolé.. Je le reprendrai si les traductions FR sortent... Màj : Toujours aucun VOSTFR depuis 2 ans...

controls are a bit wonky but the game itself is pretty cool

it certainly is different. i love the art, the music and the gameplay, but i despise all the qte you have to deal with for opening a chest, disarm a trap, the worse so far in chapter 2-5 to catch a bat, if you fail you enter combat, so if you want to reload your save to try again is a chore before you can do that. this game would have benefitted immensely from a rewind function, just for these things. it is still a great game and i still encourage everybody to play this and yggdra union

sound kept cutting in an out not sure if there is a fix but its hard to justify spending money on a game that constantly has voice and music cutting in and out

[h1] การผจญภัยของเทวดาตกสวรรค์ [/h1] สวรรค์กำลังถูกปีศาจเข้ารุกราน เราที่เป็นเทวดาไร้ปีกได้รับหน้าที่กอบกู้สวรรค์โดยการทำลาย Riviera เกาะลอยฟ้าที่อยู่ตรงกลางระหว่างสวรรค์และโลกปีศาจเพื่อตัดทาง ทว่าในระหว่างที่กำลังจะมุ่งหน้าไปยัง Riviera เราโดนโจมตีและเสียความทรงจำจากนั้นก็ได้ตื่นขึ้นมาเพื่อตามหาความทรงจำและรับรู้เรื่องราวที่แท้จริง เกมนี้เป็นเวอร์ชัน remaster ที่เป็นเนื้อหาจากเวอร์ชัน psp ระบบการเล่นเป็น turn base ตัวละครจะมีความเชี่ยวชาญในอาวุธที่ต่างกันและอาวุธแต่ละชิ้นก็มีจำนวนจำกัด หากตัวละครใช้อาวุธชิ้นนั้นบ่อยๆ ก็จะปลดล็อคท่าไม้ตาย นอกจากนั้นยังมีระบบ qte เพื่อหลบกับดักต่างๆ อีกด้วย เนื้อเรื่องสนุกน่าติดตามตัวละครทุกตัวออกแบบได้น่ารักสดใสและมีเสียงพากย์ แต่แปลอังกฤษไม่ค่อยดีเท่าไหร่แปลห้วนและตัดเนื้อหาไปเยอะมาก

[b]詰むかと思った…。[/b] 難易度や遊び方を調整できる。自分は原作準拠でプレイした。 アイテムの所持数、使用回数に制限があって、それをやりくりしながらステージをクリアしていくという遊び方だと思う。 でも実は練習バトルというシステムがあって、それを使うとアイテムの使用制限に関係なくアイテムを強化できるようになっている。 それは違うだろ！と思ったので縛ってプレイした。 チャプター4まではいい感じに進めたのだが、チャプター6, 7 になってくると大ボスがかなりきつい。 めちゃくちゃHPがあり、弱点属性を突けないとかなり厳しい強さになっている。 ここで弱点を突ける武器を持ってるかは正直運で、戦闘前のTipsで○○を使うといいと言われても[b]そんなもんは無いがな！[/b]となったりする。 雑魚敵の場合は素早く倒せばどうにかなるが、ボスの場合は長期戦になる。 自分の場合はHP回復手段が3回分しかない状態でラスボス戦に突入したので、本当にギリギリになった。 急に敵強くなりすぎ！ しかもラスボス戦は[spoiler]一人強制離脱した状態[/spoiler]で戦わないといけなかった。なんでやねん！ 一歩間違えるとチャプターまるごと最初からプレイ、なんてことになっていたかもしれない。 例えるなら、ファイアーエムブレムでノーリセットプレイをしているような感覚だと思う。 マジでやるならマップのチャート、先のボス戦とかを予めロケハンしてからクリアを目指す、とかになりそう。 クリアすると、難易度などを選べる項目が増えるのだが、練習バトルを禁止してプレイというような項目が増えていた。 なので練習バトルはやった方がよかったのかもしれない。 でもそうするとちょっとバランスが悪いかもしれない。 戦闘評価でSを取るにはオーバースキルLv.3以上で締めたいのだが、それを覚えるにはその武器で8回殴らないといけない。これは中々厳しかった。かといって練習バトルで上げるとなると、つまらない遊び方になるし…。 そんなこんなで波乱万丈、一期一会なプレイで、最後クリアできて本当に良かった。
