3/10 + local co-op -janky hitboxes and lag + works on windows 7
Hit detection was a bit off, I was also defeated by an invisible force field. Lots of women wearing skimpy outfits to pick from, and just one dude who transforms into a variety of women wearing skimpy outfits.
Where to begin with this game? Well, it should be abundantly clear by the lack of reviews, discussions, and overall community interaction that this game is nothing more than a tech demo, if it could even be called that. However, I'm not going to dance around things and merely list everything wrong with this game: 1. The controls are not properly assigned, meaning that you're going to have to play around with the settings before you even hope to start the game. (Hint: the U, I, J, and K keys are your main face buttons) 2. Frame rates are choppy as hell! It's like the developers forgot to include about 2-3 frames of animation in between character movement. 3. For some odd reason the audio in two of the eight stages of Arcade Mode seems to be higher than the rest of the game's audio. If you're wearing headphones while playing this, prepare to have your eardrums suddenly punctured by screeching music! 4. The game's manual seems to advertise 1-2 alternate costumes for each character, but during my playthrough, I found no discernible way to unlock these costumes, let alone select them. 5. Hit detection is a mess. You could be standing right against your opponent punching and kicking at them as if your life depended on it and 80% of the time your hits won't register. You're better off spamming fireballs to actually cause damage. 6. Most of the time, the opponent won't fall to the ground after you've beaten them. Most of the time they'll just stay standing while your character does its win pose and the next round starts. 7. Going off the previous point; if you want the match to move on, you have to stop hitting the opponent at the end of the round because you could spam fireballs forever and it would continue to hit the opponent, even if their lifebar is already empty. 8. Endings are comprised of a single image and some extremely small text. It doesn't help that the letters have a red glow around them, making it that much harder to read. With all that said; is it a good game? No. Is it worth the $2? Probably not. Are the achievements easy to unlock? Yes. Honestly, it's only worth playing to have a 100% complete game in your library. 90% of the achievement will unlock through normal progression, with only 2 or 3 secret achievements that might be a bit hard to unlock if you don't know what to look for (HINT: check out the one and only achievement guide for this game written by me!) I guess the last thing to say is that this game tries to appeal to anyone that gets off on 3D softcore images. With 7 of the 8 characters being female and the one male's moveset comprised of turning into the other female fighters and using their moves a la Shang Tsung (from MK), it's clear that the developers wanted to lure players in with "sexy" fighters. Trust me, there is ZERO nudity in this game. The most skin you'll ever see is during the Sacrifice (this game's version of a fatality) animations when one of the female's body will slump over and her ass is shown, or a little bit of cameltoe is teased through their panties/spandex. I can't imagine anyone getting halfway stiff over that, especially when those same animations depict the bodies torn in half and there's blood all around. I mean, if that's your thing, then you've found the perfect game.
