About
Step into the polished shoes of Chad Ironjaw, CEO of a sprawling research-and-development behemoth. From his luxurious office he gazes out over Millenniumopolis, the city of tomorrow, where gargantuan Art Deco skyscrapers, studded with gargoyles and neon lights, pierce through the clouds
What does a day in the life of Mr. Ironjaw look like, you may ask? The elevator doors part with a hiss, and he takes his seat while his ever-loyal AI assistant, Helena, briefs him on today’s agenda. The radio crackles to life, and Johnny Hertz launches into yet another opinionated broadcast, though Mr. Ironjaw can only hope his yapping will be short-lived, and that music will soon reclaim the airwaves.
From then on, he runs the company however he pleases. Perhaps he directs his empire toward marvels of progress: robotic servants, flying cars, towering vertical farms, or interstellar ships, ushering humanity into a golden age..
Or perhaps the government’s deep coffers prove too enticing, and he chooses to design swarms of surveillance drones and bone-liquefying sonic weapons for riot control.
Or maybe still, his ambitions stretch further than profit, perhaps Chad Ironjaw intends to apply his leadership skills not just to industry, but to the entire world, by force.
Indeed, science has no morality of its own. How will Mr. Ironjaw choose to wield it? Well, that’s up to you.
• Hire distinguished scientists & train their skills!
• Create your dream scientist in a vat, from stolen DNA, and extract his brain to boost productivity! (painless)
• Or use super computers instead! (they complain less)
Forge the science of tomorrow and create wonders the likes of which the world has never seen, such as:
• Compact fission and fusion reactors small enough to fit in your home basement.
• Flying cars, personal jetpacks, and vacuum-levitating trains.
• Robotic servants with countless optional upgrade modules, each sold separately, of course.
• Cybernetic implants enhancing intelligence, strength, longevity, and productivity.
• Advanced spacecraft, suits, and orbital habitats built to survive the harshest corners of the Solar System.
• Stealth suits and robotic spy-flies, perfect for subtle corporate acquisitions.
• Truth serums to keep our fine intelligence agencies ever-efficient.
• Pacifying pheromones, because a calm citizen is a happy citizen!
• Surveillance drones, pre-crime detectors, and social credit systems to keep order in our great nation.
Undertake a wide range of quests and let your moral compass lead the way:
• Engage in philanthropic endeavors (or not)
• Prevent mutually assured destruction (or not)
• Save mankind from famine and plague (or not)
• Cooperate with government requests for backdoors (strongly advised)
• Take over the world (you’ve earned it, champ!)
And many more!
Build the future—whether humanity’s ready for it or not!

In its current status i would compare this to a visual novel with managment mechanics. You manage/hire your scientist to get the skill-level to unlock/research projects. Publish the finished Projects for funding or keep it for "personal" use (only a few where that makes sense). And use that funding to make more research possible. The Choices matter currently being Global modifiers that affect the Ending/Worldstate. The Developer(s) are active in the community, for example a community hub complaint about too loud cat noise, was fixed with an added noice slider for the cat within a Day. Generaly recommend it, had my fun in my 2 playthroughs and hope it does experience some expansion/growth. Now to my Gripes: The Story is relativley basic (dont know how you could fix that, with the amound of options the player has), the voiceing is good, though some things like to repeat unneccesarily
(Ground drone arm steal comes to mind)
the balancing feels a bit ... off (dont know how to put my finger on it), some early techs feel as a bit of a cheat button while other techs used early in quest as "short cuts" are relativley Late game techs (maybe added early and feature creeped towards the back). The Techtree can be overwhemling on a first look, migth be intended as boast (look how big it is!!) but i remember without filters i was overwhelmed (which is why the filters are such a big point in the tutorial) BUT on a second playthrough it shrinks rigth down as you know which ones you need for quest and profit early on to open up options AND more importantly which ones are unreachable till way later. The Quest are also episodic, next to no interaction between them that i noticed (as of March 26). They influence the overall modifiers but your decision in 1 quest doesn't open up options in another if their not DIRECTLY related The Map has next to no influence in the current state, just a lore dump of the reds (also why i suspect/hope there is more to come) For the "Investors" which you can unlock there is one best,
the corrupt politician.
His writing should make you loathe him
(basically Politic version of Harvey weinstein)
but in the current state hes the best option to save money, without consequeces
(no "favours", no global modifier effects, etc.) that i noticed
Personally would love to have a bit more cross quest options (helped nation in crisis => can call in favour later, used weakness before => cant use similar weakness later [counter measures were taken], called in a favour => a return Favour is demanded) And would love a few more Projects/Quests Lategame. Maybe a DLC/Update where you could start from a different "City"/Nation
or move to the Moon
As Stated above i do recommend this Game, And with the current engagement i see from the Dev(s), i do expect that it will still improve quite a bit in the Future.
I had previously given this a negative review because of a game breaking bug, but the Dev reached out and fixed it. The game had a good overall vibe but was pretty easy, I was never close to failing. Although I saw they added a hard mode which might be worth another playthrough for.
I really enjoyed my time with this game. It's pretty clearly inspired by the Fallout and Bioshock franchises, but in a fairly satricial way. The aesthetic is art deco and retro-futuristic. The game puts you in command of a tech company, and your job is to produce a wide variety of sci-fi gadgets and get people to buy them. This allows a reasonable amount of role playing. Want to work hand in glove with shadowy government figures and turn your country into a surveilance state for a lot of money? You can. Want to say screw that and create a 1950's inspired post scarcity utopia? You can do that too. Each run of the game will take you about 5 hours. The gameplay is about balacing your funding and available scientists to launch projects, which earn you money to tackle bigger projects. The plot will throw curveballs at you that will force you to refocus on different areas, but it doesnt do that in a massively unfair way. The game has two voiced characters, both in game robots, both voiced by AI. It also uses AI image generation for some of the art assets. It never really bothered me. The game could've used a bit more polish, but I stil had a lot of fun with it. I'd give it a 4/5.
Soft recommend. This is not a simulation, it's a very easy experience of unlocking bits of story. The story makes sense, and the voice acting that comes with it is lovely, and the jokes come fast enough that if one of them doesn't land, there'll be another one in a few seconds. In 6.3 hours (that includes being distracted by other stuff) I finished the game and got half the achievements. So this is not for you if you're keen on optimizing your dollars spent per hour of entertainment. I am squarely in the center of the target market for this game (I wish I could focus more heavily on the base in XCOM, I always go for the tech victory in Civ, and I main Sophons), and I had a good time.
It's a pretty good game - not as much RPG, as, generally, I would say an interactive novel. :) You try to develop science in the art-deco world and read/listen stories and situations happening through your story. It is pretty damn impossible to lose on standard difficulty level, so my advice - start with hard mode, may be you'll experience some challenge. :) I quite liked social commentary on the consequences of science and industry throughout the game. Try it. :)
I was pleasantly surprised by Rise of Atom. The game has a unique atmosphere and its own identity, which is rare to find in many indie titles. I especially appreciated the core concept and artistic direction — you can clearly see the developer put real passion into this project. The gameplay is engaging and offers enough depth to keep you interested. There’s room for improvement (as with any new release), but the foundation is solid and the potential is definitely there. If the developer continues to refine the mechanics and add more content, this game could become even better. For an indie project, it’s a rewarding experience that deserves support. I recommend it to players who appreciate passion-driven games and original ideas.

Great game, a little short is my only complaint but very much enjoyable. If you like choose your own adventure done very well and dark humor this is the game for you.
