Rings of Hell

Very fun & quirky game! Was a bit surprised that it wasn't fully turn based like pokemon or FF, but like a unique twist on the turn based that gives an interesting pace for the fights. The dialogue is top tier & funny. The fact that it's playable as single player or two player (one control WASD, one control arrow keys) is so cool like Fire Boy & Water Girl back in the day. The aesthetic gives Persona (especially the text boxes and stuff). I love the "Hot & Cold" of Red & Blue's characters playing off of each other. The music is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome!! Game has so much femme fatale vibes & just great feminine aura about everything!!!! I absolutely love it so far! I know someone who worked on this game, and IT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT

Rings of Hell is a pretty good turn based, adventure game, okay what is the story. Two wrestlers simply known as Red and Blue used to be the premier tag team partners of the wrestle world, but unfortunately one day they split and form a rivalry. After years of bitter hatred they decided to have a match, but both are evenly matched as they knew each other’s moves by heart, but when both grabbed each other there was only one move they could make a devastating head butt that killed them. But this is not the end of their story, soon both Red and Blue wake up in wrestle hell and the only way to escape is to defeat Wrestle Satan herself, but the two former partners must put aside their differences and show hell what real wrestling is about or they are destined for the loser Circle for all eternity. Now then likes, gameplay is okay it's a sort of turn based game taking turns attacking the enemy and using items to either attacked the enemies or heal yourself, it is sort of bare bones though but there are some interesting things like you can use the w a s d keys and the arrow keys to control both characters and perform different attacks, but there is a slight problem with the gameplay but I'll get to that in the dislikes. The story was good it has a nice sort of cartoony feel to it with its ridiculousness and wrestling in Hell concept, it also has a good LGBTQ theme with a story that feels kind of touching as you watch these two rivals work together to escape wrestle hell. Also even as someone who's not a big fan of wrestling and only knows a few things because of cultural osmosis, even I got a few references so big wrestling fans will certainly recognize a lot of the lingo. The graphic art style is very good has a nice sort of comic book cartoony feel to it, with its uses of colors, designs and sceneries.The levels are good for such a short game the makers really do a good job making the hub area feel distinct and memorable with little shops and imps running around doing their own thing, it was quite enjoyable to just explore everything I also like the design of the wrestling ring with its tongue walkway and giant TV screen that's lined with giant teeth. The characters are good each one had their own unique, adorable and badass looks; I like the imps a lot of them are really adorable looking and Red and Blue are cool looking. The music is good has a nice bombastic feel that really fits with the wrestle look. Now then dislikes, now I said there was a problem with the gameplay and it's the fact that it’s not really a true turn based game, what I mean by that is there's no way to buy new moves and there's this meter in the background that fills up and when it reaches its maximum your characters and the enemies can attack, problem is when it's your turn to attack the enemies meters still goes up, so enemies can interrupt your attack, it got really frustrating particularly when you're fighting wrestle Satan, I mean I know it's supposed to be like wrestling and it’s supposed to be in your face intense, but I really wish there was an option to turn into a more truer turn-based game. Also I really wish the story took the concept of wrestling in Hell to a bit more extreme, I mean is there's a lot of potential to really go all out with both the wrestling and the hell themes, I understand this is a short free to play game. But honestly if this game ever gets a remake I hope they really go all out with that stuff. Also this game doesn't have achievements which is sad, I feel like it should have them. Now with all that done Rings of Hell is a pretty good turn based, adventure game, it has okay gameplay, a good story and good characters. So do I recommend this game, I do it has a lot of stuff going for it and it's free. Also I hope someday it gets a remake because I feel like this type of game could be really popular and considered an indie classic if given the right amount of time, money and preparation.
