Great game, much like RHEM I but new scenery and new challenging riddles. Enjoyed it very much!
Bon jeu de réflexion, sans peur de mourir à un moment ou a un autre. Enigmes parfois trop tarabiscotées.
Another banger from Knut, what more need be said?
Tough game. It grows on you though. Take your time and think.
This game occupies a time well spent in solving problems related to sometimes difficult situations. One must remember that apparently unrelated signs or symbols are part of a larger picture.
Brilliant thought provoking puzzles. Highly recommended if you want a Myst style puzzler.
If you like solving visual puzzles (similar to Myst and the Cyan series) you should consider the Rhem series. What they may lack (in comparison to Cyan games) in developed visuals and storylines (I personally PREFER the absence of storylines!) they more than make up for in the amount of puzzles contained within each game and they're challenging! I enjoyed the Rhem series very much - just annoyed with the promise of Rhem 5 (which I though was the point of the Rhem SE series) which has never (to my knowledge) been released.
Definitely a step up from the first game. I played this with my friend, and we had a great time figuring out the puzzles. I almost feel as though this is the best way to tackle this game! Its puzzles are dense and multi-step, but nothing ever feels too frustrating or obtuse. It isn't always clear what the purpose of the things you interact with are, so I recommend writing everything down, and keeping track of the state levers etc were in when you first encountered them. When things do come together, though, it feels awesome. Highly recommend for point and click puzzle lovers!
Some puzzles, like the glass maze, are diabolical in every way. I need a guide to get through it every time I play; there was no way in heck I would have been able to figure it out on my own. But I really like the atmosphere. What the game REALLY needs is actual music. Overall, though, the game is really good, as are the other games in the series. Really looking forward to RHEM 5, whenever it's released.
There is something dated and amateurish and yet incredibly impressive about Rhem 2 (and the whole Rhem series). A collection of questionably integrated symbol/logic based puzzles drive a big portion of the game play, but the star of the show is the labyrinthine environment whose connected and disorientingly disconnected passages themselves provide a host of puzzles. The graphics of said environment aren't as breathtaking as the geometry, but there's enough color and variety to keep things interesting. The plot and video/voice acting is laughably bad; so bad, in fact, that they almost provide charm. As any reasonable review would note, if you're not a fan of Myst, Myst-clones, backtracking, or slow methodical pacing, Rhem 2 is likely not your jam. However, if you are, you're likely to enjoy the exploration and be as impressed as I am that this is the work of a single auteur.
