Rhapsody III is a game divided in 5 snippets that further develop previously presented stories plus a final act where everyone (from the saga) gets involved. This entry of the saga is better than it's predecessor in most aspects, even when the presentation of the stories makes it feel choppy and, up until that final act, a lot of the game feels like it could've been DLC. They put everything that was missing story-wise from Rhapsody I / II in and wrapped it up with a final act that could've been made Rhapsody III itself (along with act 5), developing the story further as it progressed. I did enjoy playing two or three of the acts and knowing what happened in these stories in general, but I would only recommend buying this game if you really, really liked Rhapsody I and II and if you REAAAAALLY enjoy grinding (there's a LOT of it and it gets extremely repetitive fast). If not, watching a video summarizing the story would be more than enough to satisfy your curiosity. I would give Rhapsody III a 7 out of 10.
名作。
The best combat in the trilogy. It's also great seeing the evolution of Nippon Ichi game by game, since by Rhapsody 3 much of the formula resembles La Pucelle Tactics. A pretty fun RPG, mostly for established fans.
I've not finished this game..so this is only a temporary review. Memories is (so far) a bunch of short episodes with the former heroes of the first 2 games. With Cornet/Kukuru you play something like an interlude that didn't make it into the original games. Well, at last you can play the trumpet again ;-:
I'm putting this as a yes despite it's issues because the Rhapsody trilogy has been a real fun time to me, I would like to warn that the second to last storyline the game starts being unable to load unless you uninstall and reinstall it but if you're willing to do that there's a stellar game here with some rather interesting and unique mechanics to it, both in gameplay and how stats are done as well as a whole bunch of new storylines to play through from the first two games and something entirely new at that too, it was a real fun time for sure and deserves a lot of love, especially for the musical numbers and improved visuals on attacks in this one too dood. Okay! Full review time, if you're new to the games and started here because you're like "Ew old games no" then first off shame on you! Juuust kidding but ya really should play the first two, if anything for context but also just because they are fun games with great songs but yeah this game is basically bonus chapters set both between and after the first two games and a bonus scenario which was both really fun to play and funny too XD it was fun to see a game do something like this even but I won't spoil what dood. ^-^ The battle system has sort of changed again, it's still turn based but now you have a team of four but who can have three puppets (if they can use puppets) or monsters you've caught behind them, heck other player units too if you want, providing benefits such as stat boosts to the front player, elemental boosts which can give certain players and monsters better spells and they attack too although you can't control them and if your front unit get's K.O'ed they will take place up front and can then be controlled, adding some layers of interesting strategy to the game dood. The game has unique hidden mechanics as well as some not so hidden, I won't spoil them but what I will spoil is that you have two options, summon and miracle at save points, summon let's you summon monsters you had from prior chapters but you can't summon them until you are the same level (which I admit is always a lame mechanic if you ask me that I've seen in a couple of games) and miracle lets you release monster but you can get items or even other monsters for it, if ya give it a go maybe take note of certain aspects if you choose another monster, ya might notice something dood *wink wink nudge nudge* You can find equipment from enemies too via treasure chests you need to destroy after you beat that opponent and they can have some super nice unique and even just comedic items in them, equipment ranges from melee, gems, shoes, helmets, armour/shield and accessories, accessories are the only thing you can equip three of at once, everything else you can equip a max of two of that type and you have three slots to fill at that which can vary up how you play depending on what you have dood. Two things that I wasn't fond of, I would have played the game more and polished off the achievements out of respect for how much I enjoyed the game as I often do but first off there's a conditional puppet at one point in the game and I expected it to be an extremely difficult fight I'd have to post game beat, instead it turns out you need to not overlevel a certain character in that chapter which basically requires you use nothing but monsters to fight it but I am now absurdly overlevelled and pretty much done so yeah I'm good XD and the other is you have certain units you can get but one you can on;y get after the chapter is done but the issue is if you don't buy them all in one go it seems to not trigger, kind of lame and cut me short of playing it more but it is what it is, thought I'd warn ya'all of that dood. So overall the game was great, I wasn't so sure about the whole extra chapters thing at first but it was really well done and fun, it's a darn shame that save loading issue is still a thing because Rhapsody III deserves a lot of love and I'd genuinely love to see a lot of aspects of this era of gaming come back, thanks for reading and hope you enjoy playing if ya get it dood! ^-^7
[SPOILER-FREE REVIEW] I played Rhapsody 1 and 2, and this latest game left me satisfied. This game feels more like a "complement" to the story developed in Rhapsody 1 and 2. If you haven't played Rhapsody 1 and 2, you wouldn't understand Rhapsody 3. Chapter 1: A filler story for Rhapsody 1, it doesn't add much. Chapter 2: A continuation of the ending of Rhapsody 2. Chapter 3: A filler story about Marjoly, it doesn't add much. Chapter 4: A supplementary story about Akurjo, set at the prologue of Rhapsody 2. Chapter 5: The prequel to Rhapsody 1, featuring Cornet's mother (Cherie). This is the most worthwhile story because it explains many plot holes. Chapter 6: The Final Battle. It doesn't add much to the story; it's more of a (very exciting) fan service. It's a moderately satisfying conclusion. Battle System: It's a turn-based RPG, but you control an "army" of 16 characters. Of these, the four front-line characters are the leaders, and the remaining 12 are support characters. You can't just casually assign characters, as this will positively or negatively affect the leaders. You can recruit monsters to fight as allies. Difficulty: It starts off tricky (I lost my very first battle) if you're not used to the new system. Once you understand it, it gets easier. The problem is that you'll have to level a lot if you don't want to be defeated by the bosses. Graphics: 2D sprites recycled from previous games, but the stages are in 3D (that's the new feature). Aesthetically beautiful. Music: Practically everything is recycled from previous games. Cons: - The stages are small, with not much to explore. They're recycled often. - Sometimes you have to level a lot to keep advancing, due to the artificial difficulty. - Items don't explicitly tell you what effects they have. For example, instead of telling you "Attack +15, Speed +20," they only say "increases attack and speed." To find out their explicit effects, you have to equip them to characters and compare. - Until the end of the game, they don't tell you that certain items affect a character's stats each time they level up. Really? - It's obvious this game was a low-budget game, due to the heavy asset recycling. - Having too many characters to manage at the same time can be frustrating. Supposedly, this isn't the final game in the franchise, but "La Pucelle" would be (or rather, it would be the "bridge" between Rhapsody and Disgaea), although I'm not entirely sure yet. I wish there were more "cute" games like this, with "strong" female protagonists, and that was the reason I wanted to play Rhapsody (and also because I'm a fan of Rhapsody of Fire and Luca Turilli).
Got to celebrate Nyanko Christmas
🎮 Reseña de Rhapsody III: Memories of Marl Kingdom

Tabla de Evaluación

[th]Aspecto[/th][th]Puntuación (0-10)[/th][th]Comentario[/th]

Jugabilidad7Turnos clásicos, cómodo y entendible; no revoluciona nada.
