Reversion - The Return (Last Chapter)

The longest of the 3 chapters. I also found it a bit more difficult than the other 2. A lot more story in this part. I love how the summary of the 1st and 2nd chapter is done. If you love point & click adventures such as Monkey Island 3, Kyrandia- Hand of Fate, Day of the Tentacle, then you will also like this. I have played all 3 chapters and have easily collected all achievements on all chapters and have spent about 15 hours doing so. Highly recommended for people who like the genre.

Unfortunately, the way the devs/publishers went about expanding the campaign was flawed, with an inconsistent tone being the main issue. Add to this haphazard voice acting, minimal sound, poorly-implemented music, and a slightly irate point-and-click system and you have a faulty game that doesn’t stand well, either on its own or as a finale to a trilogy.

Après 2 épisodes très courts (1h & 1,5h chacun) & pas très mémorables en 2012 & 2013, le 3ème & dernier chapitre a débarqué finalement en 2020... Le gameplay de point n' click traditionnel reste strictement le même, des combinaisons d'objets, quelques mini-jeux & une foison de dialogues avec la même direction artistique 2D, le même moteur de jeu mais avec l'ajout de cinématiques ce coup-ci & dans une version doublée en anglais sous-titrée en français depuis fin décembre 2022...(la traduction n'est pas littérale & prend quelques libertés par moment mais ça ne change pas grand chose) En reprenant exactement à la fin du 2ème épisode, l'intrigue d'origine qui était assez vague se développe enfin & déboule même dès les premières minutes avec quelques révélations qui était en suspend...le tout bien inspiré de loin par Retour vers le Futur 2.... Il introduit de même enfin un peu plus de personnages & de lieux à explorer toujours à Buenos Aires (dont les anciens décors à nouveau) dans une histoire dirigiste un peu humoristique & loufoque. Forcément techniquement c'était déjà dépassé en 2012 & il faudra apprécié le design simpliste & ne pas être trop regardant sur les animations parfois ridicules (ou même leur simple absence) Nettement plus long & plus peaufiné que ses prédécesseurs malgré tout pour un sympathique petit point n' click indé à l'ancienne sans prétention.

Неплохой 2D-квест с приятной рисовкой и прикольными видео-вставками. Последняя глава длиннее предыдущих двух вместе взятых, из-за этого она кажется самой сложной и слегка затянутой. После прохождения всех эпизодов скорее хочется поставить [i]палец вверх[/i]. Геймплейные и дизайнерские минусы: -требуется дважды щелкать на предмет/персонажа чтобы открыть параметры: использовать, осмотреть, говорить; -неудобный инвентарь, который открывается на пол экрана и мешает использовать взятый предмет; -нет возможности пропускать диалоги даже при повторном прохождении; -слотов для сохранений много, но они не имеют скриншота локации или названия, только дату и время; -нельзя посмотреть все открытые видео-ролики в меню или папке с установленной игрой. Плюсы: +хорошая история; +атмосфера Латинской Америки; +нет дурацких мини-игр и поиска скрытых объектов; +достаточно много видео-вставок, которые дополнительно раскрывают сюжет и персонажей; +немного юмора. Reversion довольно долго разрабатывалась и наконец завершена. Хотя, вполне вероятно это не точно и вот почему: из-за возможности путешествия во времени можно клепать эпизод за эпизодами; концовка намекает; люди в обсуждениях спрашивают про главу 4 или zero; между второй и последней третьей главой был перерыв 5 лет. :D https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2723571420

This is a really nice old-school adventure game, in the Monkey Island tradition. It is mostly inventory based and it has a hint system, which is a nice feature that you dont see very often. The graphics are excellent and there are no silly QTE mini games, which is unfortunately often the case, when developers try to make adventure games these days. It also has full voiceover, unlike most new games in this genre. I find it highly recommendable, if you want to use your wits instead of your fighting skills.

After playing all the three games in a row (replayed the first chapter to recall the story), I can say this is worth playing. I could definitely see an evolution, and the last chapter is the most fun of the three.

I've translated this game series to Serbian I've truly enjoyed the story, the beautiful animations and gameplay. There are some really fun and entertaining puzzles to be solved to beat the game.

Must-buy if you played the first two games. But I think 8€ is too much for the game, if you get it on sale then I would recommend it.
