(Before buying this game, please read this guide. Understand that this is still in Early Access and as such, the game is not completed yet.) Retrowave World is series of multiple maps where you can either walk around or drive around these places. The main map, the map you start from when you load the game, is the main world. You can buy cars, buy property to gain money each day, play arcade games, go to the strip club (If you have the DLC), save and rescue people in the water, be a pizza delivery, taxi people to various places, and even help the VHS store find various VHS tapes, as well as the XXX store find various sex toys, so you can buy their businesses to make money. There are 3 places/locations you can buy cars from. The main world you enter has the most expensive cars and also the main world offers places to upgrade your car so you can go faster. When you go to the boat, (Look on the map and you will know what I am talking about.) it will take you to a place with a long stretch of road that leads to another car dealership. When you cross the bridge, that will take you to another place made of bright colors and it has a place that also sells cars. Each new map also includes a solo race. You will know what it looks like as it has a green, glowing, rectangular shape on the road. Park your car inside the rectangular area and wait for the time to start before you take off and begin your race. Although there are some places you can go to and interact with the people there, some of the places you can go to have nothing to do there, as it's just purely cosmetic. The VHS store and the XXX store have nothing you can buy and there's nothing there to do. The only exception is that the guy at the VHS store, as well as the woman in the XXX store, will ask you to find various VHS tapes and sex toys, located somewhere/anywhere around the main world. Once you find all the VHS tapes and sex toys, their stores will be available to buy so you can make money. The driving works okay. I have seen a lot worse, but I have also seen a lot better. Although you can make adjustments to each car buy, you will have to figure out what adjustments work best for you. The main world also has a casino you can go to and you can do some gambling. It doesn't have very many games, just slots and some other gambling tables. While I was applying, lost more money than I won, but maybe it's just luck or maybe the odds of winning are not that good. There are many other things you can do in this game, but I will let you find out on your own. I only say "YES" because, for the most part, the game works. However, I honestly can't recommend this game as it's still very much incomplete. The last update was almost 2 years (It said 20 months) ago, as of this review, and the dev is already working on another game as we speak. What's here does work, but but keep in mind that this game is clearly far from finished and please read below for some of the things you will run into if you decide to get this game. So if you get this game, you get this at your own risk. Most of us have pretty much agreed that this is abandoned. Some of my personal gripes are as follows, in no particular order... 1.) For some reason, the dev designed the game so that "J" is the map, and "M" changes the music. Why not make "J" (For "Jukebox") change the music and have "M" (Just like in many other open-world games) be the map key? 2.) I have managed to get stuck in certain areas in certain maps to the point where the "R" key doesn't work and I can't get back anywhere. The only solution at this point is to exit out of the game and restart and then return to where I was. 3.) Certain areas of certain maps are incomplete. I have managed to take screen shots of places where the map looks off a little and you can see where the map is limited in scope and in design. 4.) I am guessing at this, but when you are just walking about, you can press the left-mouse button and you do attacks. Sadly, this does nothing at all. Since the game is incomplete, the attacks don't do anything to any of the NPC's/people you see on the sidewalk. Although your character has attack animations, it has no effect on anything in the game. Some things to remember if/when you get this game... 1.) Do not sit on a bench, sofa, or chair anywhere in the game. There's a bit of a glitch when you sit down, and then stand up. When you get up from sitting down, you're character is stuck in whatever direction you were facing and you're also still in the sitting position. As such, you will have trouble walking around when you get up. Most cases, the only way to fix this is to restart the game entirely. This also includes when you are at the car dealership. When you walk into a certain spot after standing up from a chair or sofa, the camera angle stays at the same angle you were sitting. 2.) Once in a while, when it comes to rescuing people from the ocean, sometimes their logo isn't showing when you drive around. Normally you will see a floating logo showing the location of the person that needs saving in the ocean. If you don't see a floating logo off the side of the road while you're driving around, the only way to find them is to use the map (Press "J" To See The Map.) and then find them around the edge of the island, then double-click on it to use the locator on the mini-map to follow where the person is at. 3.) There was a time when I got in my car and it started spazzing out on me. It would shiver and shake like crazy, moving in slow, random direction as the car was freaking out. 4.) There are some locations that you can enter in that are not mentioned or shown on the map. There's a building that looks like a hotel that just takes you to the roof when you enter the building. The Strip Club and the XXX store are in the same area as the VHS and Arcades stores, just a little further down the same street. (The XXX store and Strip Club are only available if you got the DLC.) 5.) If you are playing a single-player game, do not get in the passenger side of the car, as you will not be able to drive the car. So if for some reason the car won't drive when you enter the passenger side, get out and then get in the driver's side to drive your car. (I am guessing that at some point, you can invite other players into your game and do ride shares, etc...) 6.) When you want to play an arcade game, you will need to use the arrow keys to move the objects and the space-bar is your action buttons. Some of the arcade games have additional buttons you can press that offer additional actions while playing the game. A personal message to the developer... Stop making new games for right now and fix the games you already have made. This game has potential but you're working on other games when you should be fixing and finishing the games you already made.

Fairly buggy at the moment in some regards, but it has really great gameplay and visuals. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3658897571 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3658900035
последнее обновление вышло в 2024.. у игры был потенциал, но его загубила лень разработчика.
Amazing music and quirky gameplay. Lots to do and explore. If you like obscure 80's/90's nostalgia then this is for you.
Wasted money on this in hopes it would be finished. It is now abandonware which is sad because it has quite a bit of potential. Don't waste money on it.
Abandoned by the dev, kinds sux, broken mechanics, appeals to nudity to get reactions
RETROWAVE WORLD, is a game which you really need to subvert your expectations when going in. If you're going for exactly a "Retrowave 3" experience with a slight twist then you're at the right game. However, if you are looking for an expansive open-world game with solid racing physics then you will be very disappointed. This game tries to keep many aspects of the original series with the same cars (and their unimportant stats), similar landscape and the same iconic music. However, if you have ever played those mobile sandbox games in the early 2000s then that is exactly what you will get. The game only have a couple errand quests, no story, and the driving physics feel exactly like those mobile games. For a sale price, it is a neutral game at based, and it really did have a lot of pontential. The game has entered abandonware status and the developer is still active in forums, eternally dangling a promised future updates for over a year now. PROS: - Great retrowave tracks - Beautiful enviroments - Keeps the Retrowave formula CONS: - Only a few repetivive activities - Abandonware - Terrible economy and nothing to do with it - Feels like an asset flip in many places Please get it on sale. Do not expect much to do except drive. The in-built arcard games are pretty neat though.
It's one of the games which make you fall in love with it from the first frames! If you are 30 or over 30, it's a must have. The game flawlessly depicts the atmosphere of the 80's and get all the boxes right. For the price the dev is asking, it's a wonder it gets talked about so little.
