Very good, a mix of the action games with Leon's segments and 7's horror with Grace's. One of the best RE games. A decent amount of replayability (for an RE game) and a free rogue-lite mode is a fun addition after beating the game, as bare-bones as it is. A great addition to Capcom's golden age lineup. 9.5/10
is zombo killing

Now now, WAIT, hear me out. This is NOT a bad game, there's no X out of 10 score on Steam so I just want to go against the grain here a bit. Someone before me wrote "Did we play the same game?" alluding to all of the overwhelmingly positive reviews - and I agree with them. To me, this game is inferior to RE2R, RE4R, 7 and 8 - especially story/vibe wise. This is NOT the best Resident Evil, not even close - how in the hell...anyways... Just to get this out of the way: NO FOV SLIDER...wtf what year is it. Without mods 1st person was almost unplayable to me. and 70€ (okay I paid 55€) for 15 hours of gamplay at most :s To keep it short and spoiler free - this should've been Grace's game, and Leon just feels shoehorned in. He was great in RE2R & RE4R, here it feels like Capcom have pushed waaay too close back to the RE6 wacky woohoo character and story writing with him. It was a bit too much after the Remakes of 2 & 4. Grace's parts were great. 1 particular level was a bit boring with her, but otherwise, great horror experience especially at the start. Awesome if you like RE7 & 8 but the scary bits. Leon's gameplay initially felt great - but once you get to a certain part of the game, it gets repetitive and kinda boring honestly -> and for some reason, gameplay wise, it feels like a step back from RE4R, not sure how that is possible but I swear it felt worse to play. There is a lot of "member-berries" here, if you've played the older games - which were fun but not fleshed out and a bit over the top. Also, I'd rather do a - 1 playthrough Grace (scary/horror/survival) - 1 playthrough Leon (wacky woohoo/action) This was kinda done for RE2R and worked great I think - perhaps they wanted to make sure the player experiences both. Juggling between the 2 all the time was annoying and killed the pace in some of the swaps. Graphics wise - best looking RE Engine, Capom game to date, the path tracing is gorgeous yet performant enough for this type of game (bare in mind, played on a 5070ti though). Apart from no FOV slider...wtf The story isn't groundbreaking, nor does it move the general RE story along really, maybe my expectations were too high due to the high praise the game has been showered with. Lastly, not a fan of built-in ads in games (car & watch) but whatever. If it pushes their game over the finish line, it's fine I guess but it's a slippery sloap that will eventually get over-done in games I fear.
A great addition to the resident Evil Franchise. It combines tense horror elements with great action sequences spaced between Grace and Leon sections respectively. After game rewards feel meaningful and are something worth grinding for. A overall good experience for horror/action.
