When I first saw the trailer for this game I really thought I wasn't gonna like Grace. I thought she was gonna be this really annoying character I was gonna hate playing and Leon was gonna be the only fun parts, but the way this game actually plays out and the way you see her character act in game, I began to really care for her and can honestly say she is a very welcome character for the franchise. Of course Leon is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ badass and the brief power fantasies her provides in the early game was a nice welcome switchup and very cathartic watching him mow down hordes of zombies you were struggling to fight as Grace. You can also switch between first and third person for both characters which is also really cool. It honestly felt like 2 games for the price of 1 in terms of how differently Grace and Leon played. If RE4 remake is a 10/10 game (flaws and all), then this game is like a 9/10. Still an excellent game, and the first 2/3rds of the game is easily 10/10 material that's wayyyy scarier than anything RE4 threw at me, but near the end of the game I felt myself craving some new enemy types that never came and no big switchup to enemies to shake up gameplay. Plus no mercenaries type mode where I can ♥♥♥♥ around as any of the characters? A bit of a let down. Negativity aside, this game is still an EASY recommend and I'm really looking forward to RE:10 and mods for this game.
