This one is really incredible! The setting is wonderfully eerie and mysterious. Overall, the writing is excellent. The music is haunting, and did a lot to make me feel the dread, apprehension, fear, and hopelessness that the characters were feeling. The setting feels very oppressive, and I really enjoyed uncovering the mysteries. I was drawn deeply into this one from the very beginning, and I was so anxious to find out what happens next. The characters are were abrasive at first, but I quickly grew to like them. The background art is the weakest part, but I think that helped to stimulate my imagination since I had to mentally fill in the gaps. The voice acting isn't the worst I've heard, but it isn't great either. The character art isn't quite to my taste, but I can't hold that against anybody. I will say that some characters look too much alike, however. One image has a left hand on Kaul's right arm. This also comes with a key to get the uncensored version on Itch, so that's a nice bonus. Overall, I enjoyed it tremendously. Requiescence did a rare thing for me, and that is to captivate me so strongly as to immerse me completely in the story's world. Immersion this deep is truly precious. I can easily overlook the minor flaws.
The best, I just love it
only 1 thing i HATE about this game, there is no way to save Rhys. ;( Music is good, all characters are good!
I was estatic when I realised that BL visual noves exist. This is the first I've ever played and it definitely made an impression! The dynamics and depth of the plotline were very vague along Damian and Carrault's route but indicated that you were going to find out the truth of everything, eventually. Without giving away spoilers, naturally you find out what happened in the hidden route, but even that I found incredibly...lacking. The art style was pleasing, perhaps not as detailed as one would have expected or appreciated (I grimaced a few times with some of the panels), even with the 18+ version but it worked well with the context. Neither too explicit or concealing. It was rather annoying though, that Kymil was just expected to take it and there weren't any options to protest even a little from a reader's point of view, but that might just be me.
Forewarning = bad endings = sex pet for life. No joke.
Voice acting wise? Carrault was very abrasive but I found that it worked with the set of his character. No complaints about Damian - that was done really well. As for Kaul, I felt that he raised his voice a little too much and stepped out of character for what the text stipulated. And personally, I feel like he should have had a deeper voice. Haha. Definitely recommended to a fan of BL. Only gripe I had with it though was that fact that
Kaul's route sucked. Plain and simple. Two of the main characters died, which makes no sense as no main characters died on the previous routes. And I feel like Kaul and Kymil's relationship was very much based on Kaul's guilt. It was a bizarre happy ending which I would strain to call happy.
That being said, I'm looking forward to Chess of Blades!
First thing first, I actually played it more hours. Way more hours. I just switched to the R18 version, which does not increase the hours displayed here. So, I guess I played between ten and thirty hours. Hard to keep count when you are as clued to the screen as I was :-D This was a great experience! I was sceptical at first with allt he seemingly endless corridors, but once you push past that, it is worth it. Especially after I realised that using the Product key, you can download the R18 version. The explicit scenes were...well, amazing. Astounding. Incredible. Also, part voice over. <-- That made the mature scenes soooo much better. So much! Definitely recommended!
This game is great! It has many hours worth of dialog, iff you actualy pay attention and read all of it, and multiple endings. Recommended!
Esta muy bien pero se hace corto.
First of all: I played the 18+ version, which is why I don't have that much hours on Steam ;) I absolutely loved it! Why? + nice drawings + likeable Characters (both the MC and the love interests which is kinda rare) + background music and VA + an interesting story for every character (tho some question remain unanswered) + wonderful writing with detailed descriptions (which is also kinda rare :')) + completely BL As a fan of Yaoi and VNs I'd totally recommend this game to everyone who's interested in those genres. This is the second VN - first one would be Hustle Cat- I've come to love so much that I would definitely play it again. 36 out of 10 would totally recommend it and play it again (and again and again and again)
