With stunning visuals and a fantastic soundtrack, the 'vibes' alone drew me towards this game from the trailers / demo. But what I wasn't expecting was such a deep story too; a great dystopian future setting with some real heart due to the characters you meet along the way and the main character's emotional journey. A good mix of old school platforming (players of Another World and Flashback will feel right at homer here), interesting Arkham-esq combat, and the odd chase sequence to compliment the story telling. Admittedly all three gameplay elements were getting pretty stale towards the back end of the game, with few meaningful new ideas coming into play in the last couple of hours. But by that stage I had to see the story through, and I'll admit that the aforementioned vibes also helped soften the blow of increasingly repetitive gameplay. The visuals are incredible, showcasing the best example yet of mixing pixel art with modern lighting effects. I enjoyed Octopath Traveller's similar approach to visuals, but some of the effects on the pixel art were a bit jarring; no such problems here and Sad Cat have done a fantastic job with Replaced's coherent art direction. Similar to the fatigue experienced during the gameplay, by the last two hours you will probably be sick of dark, dingy, corridors that make up many of the game's interior spaces. But overall the game does a great job at giving just enough variety to keep the visuals stimulating. The soundtrack perfectly fits the vibe with synthesizers providing the bedrock for pumping or moody tracks depending on the amount of action on screen. No bugs, no crashes, I had a real polished experience. I think the trailers do a great job showcasing what you get gameplay-wise from this game, but there is an added bonus of a great story in there too. So if you've seen the trailer and thought the game looked cool, I am fairly convinced you'll love this. Well done Sad Cat on a fantastic debut game, can't wait for you next!
muito bom
I had this game sat at number 1 on my wishlist since 2021. Safe to say, it was worth the wait! Combat feels almost as fluid as the Batman Arkham games, visually stunning and the atmosphere set by the music is something else! Gives a real Blade Runner vibe. I'm more than likely to replay this not only to 100% on the achievements but simply enjoy such an amazing game!
Hmmm. Well, I was initially wowed by this. VERY nice pixel graphics, with a cool retro 80s cyberpunk post-apocalyptic dystopia vibe. On art and vibe, it would probably make a great movie or TV show actually. The writing could do with some polishing though, but aside from that it nails the art side. But the clunky gameplay and pacing, along with annoying platforming and rather repetitive fights eventually started to bore and annoy me. Then there are the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ - There are collectible music tracks but you actually can't play them unless you just sit there and listen. You select them on a walkman thingy and hit play, but unless you stay there on the music screen and just listen it will stop. You cannot listen to them while actually playing the game. I thought I was just doing something stupid but checking the forum/google shows this is intended. Whaaaat? This is such a weird design decision. Unless you adore the tracks so much you just want to sit and listen (in a really clunky way) you will just not listen to them. Why even bother writing the music then? It is also very annoying the game prevents reliable exploring. Walk the wrong way at the wrong moment and BOOM you are locked out of an area with no warning. So you easily miss collectables, and more importantly, power ups. To get them then, you need to replay the chapter, or live without them. Admittedly the fights weren't so hard (at least as far as I got) that I was struggling without them, but I do hate being denied the chance to get them just because I happened to walk through a one way door or something when there was no way to tell it was a one way door! Sooo... It does not feel all that inspiring or 'fun' in the end. I don't feel much motivation to continue. That said, many folk to seem to love this game, so maybe it just isn't for me.
Геймплей простенький, но в целом очень хорошо.
Visually stunning game with a great soundtrack, combat is simple but fun and satisfying, if at times a little frustrating. The story overall isn't anything particularly new but still very enjoyable and the worldbuilding really lends so much to the imagination. Hardly encountered any bugs or glitches.
- Pobreza - Capitalismo - IA - Ação - Humanidade - Esperança Muito bom!
