Нагадує мені Блейдраннер з Гослінгом. Атмосферно, красиво, але нудно
The most stunning and immersive indie game, I've ever played. This is a must play game for everyone.
I will start with the obvious, this game looks absolutely amazing and the combat is awesome! The story is phenomenal too. My only complain is the animations are very slow, the walking the running when it's no action, the camera pans etc. Yes it gives you time to take in the gorgeous view in many cases and it gives that cinematic vibe but this is subjective so 100% recommend it.
TL;DR: great story, unforgettable style, solid combat. Should have been 2-3 hours shorter instead of including so much tedious platforming and puzzles. The conclusion is worth sticking it out for, though. GOOD STUFF: + Style: A striking blend of pixel art, low-poly environments and modern lighting effects that just happens to match the mix-and-match retro-futurism of the setting. V + Story: I was not expecting this going in, even from the demo, but this is one of my favorite sci-fi stories in recent memory, mostly for the depiction of its dystopia's "survivors" that manages to be inspiring without shying away from the difficulties of being decent in an oppressive world. The protagonist is great too, an AI that discovers its own humanity. + Combat: It wears its Batman Arkham inspiration on its sleeve and is a (mostly) successful translation of its mechanics to 2D. You start with basic attacks, counters and dodges, and you get new tools as you go, like an axe for tearing through armor, a shockwave, and even a way to repel bullets. What really defines the combat, though, is your gun. For contrived game balance reasons, you can only get a shot after so many normal attacks "charge" it up. Then you can shoot a baddie for a (usually) one-hit kill, often accompanied by a flashy and brutal takedown animation. NOT-SO-GOOD STUFF: - SLOW platforming and puzzles: Towards the end, I came to dread the gameplay between fights. The best I can compare the rest of the gameplay to is something like Inside or Little Nightmares, but running around and climbing in those games is much smoother and fun, and they have a lot more ideas to throw at you. The platforming could be okay but the most of the puzzles involve slowly, agonizingly dragging heavy items around to use as platforms. Sometimes you'll be running back-and-forth through multiple rooms, and Reach does not have much hustle. Speaking of "Reach," this game has the most egregiously generous hitbox for grabbing ledges. I was second-guessing nearly every jump towards the end. (You're pretty slow in combat too, but I think it worked for the pace they were trying to set) - And its LONG: 10 hours is not that long by game standards, but it really could have really trimmed the fat and kept the pace up and been a better game that was 7 or 8 hours. Granted, I WAS doing the sidequests in the pseudo-hub level - including some surprisingly well-made games-within-games in the arcade. But showing more of the story and world came at the cost of fun gameplay and actual pacing. I'm particularly furious about a fetch quest around the third-quarter mark - yes, showed some fresh parts of the setting, but - that ground everything to a halt. - Lack of polish in combat towards the end: I would blame most of my deaths in the last 20% of the game on glitched counter indicators (i.e. they'd appear for a split second after I'd already input the counter, causing me to whiff the next one) or enemies doing too much at once. Yes, thing should be more hectic, but there were instances where two enemies would be attacking at once with two different means of countering, forcing me to take a hit. NITPICK CORNER: ? As good as the game is at trickle-feeding you upgrades and mechanics to add to combat, something major near the end happens that you would EXPECT to grant you some last ability, maybe some kind of flashy ultimate attack or a new means of traversal, but... no, the gameplay remains exactly the same with some animations changed.
One of the best looking games that I've ever played, I liked the story and the combat, the executions look sick but they can feel a bit repetitive but the hours that that the game offers I think its fine.
I would of liked to see more combat that integrated the new biological hand at the end tho
one of the highlights of the game is definitely the music, enhancing the whole experience. On some parts of the game I felt a little lost,
specially once I entered the city area but basically since it was at the end I didn't mind it.
During my playthrough I didn't encounter any bugs or anything out of the ordinary, the game ran buttery smooth at all times I believe the game is worth the money and I hope to see more from the the devs, and hopefully it doesn't take another 5 years
