BT Games, what can be said about this absolute legend. BT games is out here making bangers like the late great Hideo Jokima. This truly is a new type game, I would even go as far to call it a Bound-type game. Truly this game will leave an impression any anyone who dares to challenge it's superb puzzles; with such designs as "pull the lever by mashing E". Can YOU mash E fast enough? I think not. Only those with enough dexterity can overcome such a masterpiece in puzzle design. Truly, a mastermind above the likes of John Carmack would be able to come up with the brilliant idea of being stun locked (or should I say flinch-locked [thanks Wrath]) every time you get shot. Incredibly, the genius behind being able to reload even when your gun is full, and you do not automatically pick up ammo is an ascended being that truly walks a plane above our simple minds. This is hot garbage. Watch my stream it and laugh and break this game until I get super bored because it's actually just Unreal steam slop. https://youtube.com/live/Z8DsVbnafF0?feature=share
fun game worth buying if you like games like uncharted and tomb raider
only game enviroment is good but controls are extremely clunky and so many bugs in game. its a waste of time. the controls are very bad and if ur character stuck somewhere it cant move.
I thought the game was good, it makes you want to play again after finishing it.
Clunky controls, no pick up ammo, you need to take whole gun. Sorry, refund
Relicbound is an indie third-person action-adventure that sets its sights high, blending cinematic storytelling, exploration, and combat into a cohesive but uneven experience. It follows the journey of Jackson, an archaeologist pulled into a dangerous conflict surrounding a mysterious artifact with the power to manipulate time. This premise immediately establishes a familiar sense of adventure, evoking themes of ancient secrets, hidden ruins, and shadowy organizations, while also attempting to introduce its own twist through time-based mechanics. The structure of the game revolves around a steady rhythm of exploration, traversal, and combat encounters. Players move through a variety of environments, from dense jungles to ancient ruins and cavernous interiors, each designed to support both navigation and firefights. Traversal plays a significant role, with mechanics such as climbing, swinging, and light platforming allowing players to move through the world in a way that feels dynamic, even if not always perfectly refined. There are moments where the flow of movement works well, giving a sense of momentum and freedom, but there are also instances where animations and transitions feel rigid, slightly disrupting immersion. Combat is a central pillar of the experience, offering a range of weapons and encounters that require players to stay mobile and aware of their surroundings. Firefights are generally straightforward, relying on positioning and timing rather than complex systems, but they are engaging enough to maintain tension. Enemy encounters are varied enough to keep players alert, though they do not always evolve significantly as the game progresses. The introduction of time-based abilities adds an extra dimension, allowing players to manipulate certain situations to their advantage, whether in combat or while solving environmental challenges. While this mechanic is one of the game’s more interesting ideas, it is not explored as deeply as it could have been, leaving a sense that there was potential for greater complexity. Narratively, the game leans into a cinematic approach, presenting its story through a series of scripted events and character interactions. The plot is easy to follow and maintains a consistent pace, keeping players moving forward with a clear objective. While it does not break new ground in terms of storytelling, it succeeds in creating a sense of purpose and continuity. The characters and dialogue serve their roles effectively, even if they lack the depth or nuance that might make them truly memorable. The story works best as a framework that ties the gameplay together rather than as a standout element on its own. Visually, the game shows a clear level of ambition, aiming for a more realistic presentation than many indie titles. The environments are often detailed enough to create a convincing sense of place, with lighting and environmental effects contributing to the overall atmosphere. However, this ambition is not always matched by consistency, as certain assets and animations can feel less polished than others. This contrast can occasionally break immersion, reminding players of the game’s smaller development scope. The audio design supports the experience with appropriate sound effects and music, though it does not significantly elevate the overall presentation. What stands out most about the game is its sense of ambition. It clearly aims to deliver a cinematic, story-driven adventure within the constraints of a smaller project. This ambition leads to moments where the game feels engaging and cohesive, particularly when exploration, traversal, and its time-based mechanics align. At the same time, it also highlights the limitations of its execution, as not all systems are developed to their full potential. The result is an experience that feels complete in structure but uneven in refinement. In the end, Relicbound is a game that offers an enjoyable journey for players willing to embrace its strengths while accepting its imperfections. It captures the essence of a classic action-adventure, delivering a mix of exploration, combat, and narrative progression that is easy to engage with. While it may not reach the level of polish or depth found in larger productions, it succeeds in presenting a clear vision and following through on it to a reasonable extent. For those interested in indie takes on cinematic adventure games, it provides a worthwhile, if occasionally inconsistent, experience. Rating: 7/10
