Redecor Ruined - Former Loyal Player After nearly 8,000 designs over many years, I am no longer spending any money on Redecor. In the past, I often spent $50–$75 per month because I genuinely enjoyed the game and wanted to support it. Unfortunately, the changes made over the last few years have completely changed the experience. One of my biggest disappointments is the level system. I have spent money on items over the years, yet many of those items are now locked unless I maintain a higher level. Players are now expected to spend around $20 per month minimum just to maintain their current level and continue accessing content. Requiring players to keep spending money to use items they have already purchased is unacceptable. What was once a fun, relaxing, and creative decorating game has been ruined by changes that prioritize monetization over user experience. I have over 5,000 items, yet hundreds of them are unwanted, randomly awarded items that I would never use. There is no way to delete or organize them, making it tedious to find the items I actually want. The game now relies on random rewards instead of intentional choices, multiple screens of ads before you can even play, challenges that require far more work and clicking, and design styles that often don’t appeal to me. Many challenges require 15–18 design elements and frequently force players to use specific new items they don’t own, despite already having thousands of items in their inventory. The constant pressure to spend money to keep up has taken the joy out of the game. Redecor used to be about creativity, choice, and design. Now it feels primarily focused on generating revenue rather than providing an enjoyable user experience. As a longtime paying customer, I can no longer justify supporting a game that increasingly values monetization over its players.

Only Rewarding by spending too much money I love decorating but spend way too much time and money for the game to feel rewarding

Everything is behind a paywall. I can barely do any designs after playing for weeks because it is so hard to earn anything to unlock/ buy unless you pay for it.

Recently became a money grabbing app I have been playing this game for a year. I have loved it up until about 2 months ago. It started getting more expensive and now they offer expensive bundles that can only be bought with real money instead of the game cash and gold. And these materials also cannot be unlocked with the game coins like they used to be. Every day it seems there is a new bundle offered for $6-20 USD. It is obnoxious. Also, it used to be that when you unlocked materials with coins, you would get 3 new materials. Now you get two materials and a +1 use of one of them. The new changes are ruining the game for so many players.

annoying this game used to be about decorating, now it’s constant pop ups and ugly materials. ever since it was bought out it’s gone downhill unfortunately

Terrible cash grab I had an account a few years back, logged back in, and while my coins stayed, all of the season pass items (some of which I paid for!) and items I unlocked disappeared. It’s basically unplayable unless you devote a lot of money since so much is locked.

Good, but… I played quite a bit a few years ago, and it remains a beautifully-constructed game. However, far, far, far too many design options remain “locked,” including design options I had previously unlocked. This just absolutely ruins the game. I deleted it from my phone at least a year ago; missed it and came back; same problem. Deleting it again. Such a sad waste of potential for this game.

Taste level dropping App works fine but now not relaxing due to too many bells and whistles and shallow "beauty" and tacky cosmetic elements (see: nail polish). Has become busy with 10 things to click through before playing.

Been Disappointed….again I wrote a review about 18 months ago about how the algorithm is set up for voting. I would use exact designs and get one heart where others would get three hearts. Got real frustrating. So I started to spend money on coins and tokens, the premium pass, and the season pass and all the sudden I was getting three heart ratings. That lasted for about 12 months. In the past 2-3 months I noticed my ratings were slowly dropping even though I was spending the money and my design status went down. I used to love this game. It appears everything is about money and the creators want you to spend more. In this economy, just can’t see paying and playing. Lost the desire to play and will be deleting the app.

Best designing game I’ve found! I’ve tried so many designing game and every single one has not been what I’m looking for until now.
