I have mixed feelings about this game, but I really like the concept. Learning and testing different facts from different domains integrated into a roguelite is perfect for an autistic man like me. However, there are certain things I am confused about, other things don't work, and there is obvious AI use. AI is used (according to the store page) to take facts, turn them into questions, and then provide multiple choice answers. I actually do not have a problem with this, as long as they are fact checked (which I doubt since there are a thousands of different questions). For me the bigger issue is that there is some obvious AI generated art assets. I do not think all of them are, but it is pretty clear that there is a good amount. It is early access, but there seems to be some pretty blatant bugs (as far as I can tell). I tried to "descend" (start a run), but after two encouters, it would boot me out of my run by saying "Waiting for encounter" but nothing would happen. You can leave and resume run, but it seemed to reset my progress? All I know is when I finished it basically said I did nothing, and I got no exp, progression, or anything. I also got repeat questions all the time, which is weird considering how many questions there are (there is a library you can look at). Is this intentional? I don't know. There is also a section of the game to just study, which may be used to unlock questions or other things? I don't know, it was not really explained. So why did I recommend this game? Two reasons, the concept is great and it is free. It is also early access, so I am hoping it gets updated and these things get fixed. I actually learned somethings from playing the game, and when it worked I enjoyed playing. There for sure needs to be balancing in the actual gameplay as well, but that can be fixed more readily IMO. I really hate the use of AI (other than the question generation/gathering), but if the game gets a lot more polish and updating, I genuinely could see myself playing it to learn. I don't know. It barely squeaks out a positive review for me but I can't lie, I liked it.

This game is incomplete in it's current state, there are very few actual questions even though it says there are hundreds. I kept getting the same 8 or so questions over and over, with only slight rephrases or asing the question in reverse. The UI is awkward and it is easy to fumble a click and do the wrong thing with a card.
Is very unfinished and unpolished. The UI is a huge issue, feels like this is definitely not the developer's comfort zone. The questions also leave a LOT to be desired. They are very random and not things anyone would be expected to know. For instance, how much of marine life lives in coral reefs: 20%, 25%, 35%, or 45%. That is not a fun question to get because you just have to guess, I don't want a trivia game where all I do is guess. Combat is complicated and it just immediately throws you in with barely any tutorial. It is not easy to understand where your health is, how much you are blocking currently, how the buffs and debuffs work, etc. Keeping in mind that this is an early access game, I really think this one needed to cook for a little longer before coming out of the kitchen. The dev has a lot of work to do on UX and UI design before this is ready for release. It ranges from looking cheap to actively hindering your ability to play
Obvious AI, some of the cards just doesnt work ( ;ike skip enemys turn and next attack uses twice ) But concept of the game is so good Being a free game makes it good itself
It is a great game aside from the bugs

Wonderful concept! Been a big fan of it since I first learned about it an hour ago! There are a number of issues; most minor, a couple of bigger ones: There are a few mechanics that either weren't explained, or perhaps I missed them in the tutorial. I don't know the importance of chaining cards with like crystals (jade, amber, etc.) The spiderweb-like attack doesn't have a description or an entry in the mechanics page. Charging some cards doesn't appear to have an effect. One particular card lowers the AP cost of the following card by one, another will play the next card twice. I either got the question wrong, or didn't notice the effect. I likely got it wrong because some of the questions require more than general knowledge of an event, it requires knowing a date, or a particular quantity of something, Having answered around a hundred questions, I've seen repeats/re-wordings about a quarter of the time. If a question is reworded ten times, does that count as 10 out of the 67,000+ facts? Or are they picked in true random, and not seeded and I've just been unlucky? Or is it taking a Duolingo-like approach where it will pick from a small group of questions, and repeat those until you've shown that you've memorized it sufficiently? The game is incredibly easy compared to what I would expect, having played Slay the Spire. My first run was a win, and I don't think I fell below 90 health. I also charged nearly every card and got maybe a third of the answers right. Presumably, the ascension levels will make it a bit harder; haven't got there yet. Slightly more serious issue is the frequency of 'crashes'. The game hasn't fully crashed, but every 3 encounters or so there will be a "failed to read 'something'" error which forces me to restart the game, though it does save your progress and hasn't failed to do so yet. All in all, definitely an unfinished game (clearly: as it's early access), but a great concept. Once polished, it's a 9/10 for me. I'm thankful for getting to pick this up for free. A lot of work has been poured into it already (and some AI usage, but who cares.) I'm really looking forward to see how this game will take shape!

I like your idea! I hope to get more updates in the future. There are a few problems I encountered. i dont know how to import my Anki decks. The instructions in Steam is unclear for me. Unable to create account. It said "unable to reach the server." I have been trapped in the same floor without any monster / boss appears. I cannot finish the run. it said "waiting for encounter." my only option was to return to the campfire. But I do not want to abandon the run >. < when i resume the run, i was in the same floor again.
Imo, the world needs this game. Consider it part of your calling to do it, properly, as it's much less than 50% complete in terms of testing and debugging. Then sell it, because a robust, reliable, UI-polished, completed concept will be worth it and invaluable to students and to people trying to replace bad tech habits and addictions with better ones. Ignore the AI critics on this one, because you're actually be using AI for good, and if it's a fully working (all listed features) version, you'll have no trouble finding artists to help out in the future. Recommending only because this needs support
