When a withdrawn virtual reality nerd has the opportunity to beta test a neural device that feels more “real” than reality itself, everything she assumed about the nature of existence is thrown into question.

What is real? What is fiction? Can the line between both be blurred so significantly that it's hard to tell one apart from the other? </reality> tackles these questions in a backdrop of virtual reality and neural interfaces. The technology side of this visual novel is what initially caught my attention, but as I played I became engrossed in the narrative they were trying to tell here and I kept wanting to see what would happen until the end. I only got one ending, and I'm certain that if I played more times I'd get other endings (as is usual for VNs). That means a good replayability factor, at least until all endings and choices have been picked. Anyone interested in existentialism and/or near-future technological innovations should give this one a try.
Played for >180 minutes. There are 2 (two) listed 'perspective characters' And yet about 80% of interactions are with or about this 'Ben' dude. What the heck? Who is this game about? What is this game about? I don't know, and I don't think devs know. Not recommended.
If cheap? Worth it.
Simple game, story driven, not a lot of interaction but just reading about the story and such! Fun if you like a casual game! https://youtu.be/8toNVQncasw
A visual novel with an interesting story and beautiful art. The music is boring and repetitive. There are quite a few choices that affect the relationship between the 3 main characters and the final outcomes of the story, with different ending panels based on what you choose. If you really like VNs then give it a try. It was an interesting story with interesting themes like social anxiety and reality itself that i found intriguing.
Barely keeping up with college and her family, Lilya spends most of her time with on-line friends in virtual reality. When she gets invited to test a new VR device, she doesn't think twice about it. The new technology is said to feel more real than reality itself, and meeting its inventor Jacob Lessard may be good for her career—that's what her dad is saying, anyway. Lilya is just curious, and nothing could prepare her for what she's about to experience... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dhRsxjifIA
I liked...

The characters (they feel like actual people; well-written and relatable)
The choices (the game really makes you think)
The look and feel (the game is well polished)

Verdict
I thoroughly enjoyed Reality for its satisfying story and intriguing ideas. Definitely recommended. For more EVN reviews, feel free to look at my curator page: Azar Reviews.
This is my new favourite game! I love VR, I love technology, also I LOVE philosophical matters! I also love RP games! I love the heroine, we got a lot in common! I love VItalia! I just LOVED the trailers and the game does not disappoint! </reality> is a must have! A favourite game of all time!
Once you get over the main character, it is a generally good game. Interesting story and plot with good world building and characters. Not the best game ever, cliche in many ways, but the exploration of reality makes it worth it.
Awesome!
