"Rayon Riddles - Rise of the Goblin King" is an older game from 2016. It's a venerable 9 years old at the time of this review. It was a dismal failure. The idea was to make a third person puzzle adventure game where you control a bunch of goblins and use unique abilities from each one to solve various puzzles (like the strong goblin can pick up heavy things, and the software tester goblin can find bugs in software... oh wait these guys never found out about software testing). One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. From my experience with the game, it's somewhat bug riddled and has design/implementation/stability problems that will render this unplayable for many gamers. The game crashes constantly, and I mean constantly. Change the game resolution? Crash to desktop. Start the game? Crash to desktop. Do anything at all? Crash to desktop. This is pretty much unplayable because the developers don't seem to have bothered with even the most basic of rudimentary testing before they decided to ship the game. We can say with great certainty that this game is not an asset flip. This is because the assets are of such poor quality that no self respecting asset creator or artist would publish them under any circumstances. Certainly, nobody likes to see asset recycling, stock assets are intended to be used as placeholders until superior assets can be created by the developer, but when we get what's worse than either stock assets being flipped or professional assets, it's a reason for gamers to go out of their way to avoid the product. So this game features genuinely but really badly made low-polygon "retro" assets with cartoony, mobile app style shader effects, making this look like a barely functional mobile app from 15 years ago. This visual style is a method that lazy devs often use when they have a lack of interest/capability to create highly detailed, high poly models and instead use shader effects to disguise that shortcoming under the name of "art", or "We made it look bad on purpose", which really isn't something gamers should have to put up with. It's unclear why the developers weren't willing to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets and high resolution textures for the game. It's far below the state of the art visuals gamers expect as a result of their decisions. The controls and game handling are notably very clunky and unsmooth here. It's janky and unsatisfying to play... and any experienced gamer will tell you, the handling, responsiveness and general gameplay feel of the control scheme must be well polished for this kind of game to succeed. Unfortunately, this is something the developer seems to have phoned in, with little to no apparent gameplay testing. They dropped the ball on this one. And frankly, it's a battle to get far enough into the game to find all that stuff out because it's more likely to crash than not. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 110,000+ games on Steam? "Rayon Riddles - Rise of the Goblin King" has the delusionally optimistic price of $12 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. For that kind of money they could at least hire someone who knows about testing. For comparison, the $12 asking price for this game could get you games like "Valheim", "Divinity: Original Sin 2" or "Halo: The Master Chief Collection". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.
Rayon Riddles is a very nice puzzle game with 9 different levels and 3 playable characters. All characters have their unique twist so you need to look out which one to use for which situation. I really enjoyed the puzzles and different styles of the levels. The game has a good humor and the narrator delivers the story to the player in a very fun way. It took me a moment to get into the game and its mechanics as I usually don't play puzzle games that often but once it hooked me, I played the whole game in one run. I had a lot of fun and would recommend to check it out, also the developers also provide a demo which is a big plus.
Rayon Riddle is a third-person adventure puzzle game in which you play as various goblin characters. The setting and art style are quite good. The music, sound and voice-over are also brilliant. There are nine levels. You will have to do a series of fetch quests and craft the necessary items to pass through each level. Puzzles are sometimes easy and sometimes won't make any sense at all. Maybe that's the point of this game. You will encounter so much weird humour. The only thing that frustrated me was bugs. I encountered a few level progressing bugs in some levels. After respawning, a character got stuck in the walking animation, so I had to restart that level every time. Two to three achievements are also glitched. So, one has to play a particular level again to get the relative achievements. I couldn't unlock the completion achievement for the last level. I tried it twice or thrice, but had no luck. Then I switched to my other system. But, the cloud save is not working with this game somehow. So, I played the entire game again to get that last achievement. Apart from that, I enjoyed my time with the game. If you can ignore some glitches, you may have some fun with this one. It's recommended to get it when it's available on sale. My verdict: 6/10
SEHR COOLES GAME!!! absolutes must play!!
Not fun and very unpolished

Rayon Riddles – Rise of the Goblin King is a fantasy puzzle-adventure game developed and published by Lost The Game Studios that combines exploration, character-based problem solving, and lighthearted storytelling. Set in a whimsical fantasy world populated by goblins, trolls, and orcs, the game follows a small group of goblins attempting to escape captivity and return to their homeland. The narrative begins with the goblins imprisoned in a harsh labor camp run by hostile orc overseers. Through a series of clever escapes and improvised plans, the group sets out on a journey toward freedom while navigating dangerous environments and solving puzzles that block their path. Although the story itself is relatively simple, it provides a playful framework for the game’s puzzle-driven gameplay and character interactions. The adventure unfolds through several chapters that gradually introduce new locations and challenges. As the goblins move beyond their prison camp, they must explore caves, forests, and enemy-controlled territories while avoiding threats and discovering ways to continue their journey. Along the way, players learn more about the personalities of the goblin characters and their unique abilities. The game places particular emphasis on cooperation between these characters, encouraging players to think about how each goblin can contribute to solving obstacles encountered throughout the adventure. One of the key mechanics of the game is the use of multiple playable characters, each with a distinct skill set. For example, the goblin known as Tech specializes in crafting and assembling tools from scattered materials. Heavy, as his name suggests, possesses the strength needed to push large objects or break through barriers that would otherwise block the group’s progress. Tiny can squeeze through narrow passages that larger characters cannot access, making him essential for reaching hidden areas or activating mechanisms on the other side of obstacles. The goblin leader, King Hung Ree, plays a more general role in guiding the group and interacting with certain elements of the environment. By combining these different abilities, players must determine how the characters can work together to overcome challenges. Gameplay revolves around exploration and environmental puzzles. Players move through enclosed areas searching for useful objects, clues, and crafting components. Many puzzles require collecting specific items and assembling them into tools that can be used to interact with the environment. For instance, players might discover a blueprint for a lockpick and then search nearby areas for the materials needed to craft it. Once assembled, the tool can be used to unlock doors or containers that contain additional items or paths forward. This crafting system forms a central part of the gameplay loop, encouraging players to pay close attention to their surroundings and experiment with different combinations of items. The puzzles themselves vary in complexity. Some involve straightforward tasks such as moving obstacles or activating switches in the correct order, while others require coordinating the actions of multiple goblins simultaneously. In certain situations, one character might need to distract an enemy while another sneaks past or operates a mechanism. These moments highlight the cooperative nature of the goblin team and encourage players to think creatively about how each ability can be used in the environment. The game also leans heavily into humor, presenting its fantasy world with a playful and sometimes absurd tone. The goblin characters often react to situations with exaggerated expressions and comedic dialogue. Many puzzle solutions involve unusual or humorous combinations of objects, reinforcing the game’s lighthearted approach to storytelling. Rather than portraying goblins as purely sinister creatures, the game depicts them as mischievous underdogs struggling to outwit their captors and survive in a hostile world. Visually, Rayon Riddles adopts a stylized 3D aesthetic with exaggerated character designs and colorful environments. The goblins themselves are intentionally quirky in appearance, featuring oversized features and expressive animations that highlight their personalities. The environments include a variety of fantasy settings such as orc encampments, underground tunnels, and wilderness landscapes. Although the graphics are not particularly advanced, the visual style gives the game a distinctive identity that fits its comedic tone. The audio design supports the fantasy atmosphere with lively background music and playful sound effects. The soundtrack features upbeat themes that reinforce the adventurous and humorous nature of the journey. Sound effects accompany interactions with objects and character movements, adding a sense of feedback when puzzles are solved or obstacles are overcome. While the audio presentation remains relatively simple, it complements the game’s whimsical style and helps create a consistent tone throughout the adventure. Despite its imaginative concept, the game does have several shortcomings that affect the overall experience. Some puzzles rely heavily on trial-and-error mechanics, which can occasionally make progression feel more frustrating than rewarding. In certain areas, the controls and camera angles can feel awkward, making it difficult to navigate tight spaces or interact with objects precisely. These technical issues sometimes interrupt the flow of exploration and puzzle solving. The pacing of the game can also feel uneven. While the early chapters introduce the mechanics gradually, later sections sometimes repeat similar puzzle structures without introducing significant new gameplay ideas. As a result, the experience can feel somewhat repetitive during longer play sessions. The humor and character interactions help maintain interest, but they may not fully compensate for the lack of variety in puzzle design. Nevertheless, Rayon Riddles – Rise of the Goblin King still offers moments of creativity and charm. The cooperative mechanics between characters and the crafting-based puzzles occasionally lead to satisfying “aha” moments when a complicated solution finally comes together. Players who enjoy exploring fantasy environments and experimenting with puzzle mechanics may find the game’s unusual ideas appealing. Overall, Rayon Riddles – Rise of the Goblin King is an ambitious indie puzzle adventure that mixes humor, exploration, and character-based problem solving. While the execution is somewhat uneven and the technical polish is limited, the game’s quirky premise and cooperative puzzle mechanics give it a distinctive personality. It may not reach the same level of refinement as larger adventure titles, but it still provides an interesting and occasionally entertaining journey through a strange fantasy world filled with goblin ingenuity.
