One must consider what it means to be a rat before they must consider what it means to be human. This game expertly shows us the difference between rat and man. One is baby, the other is hyper-realistic. This game is an effective allegory for the military industrial complex and it's many, MANY immoral actions taken against RAT KIND such as the invention of... guns. You must find the true juxtaposition between rat and man, gun and life, quality versus quantity. My friends and I played this game and became vegan. Thank you Thebigrat.
Note: Dead PvP game This game contains no meaningful single player content. There's no viably populated servers/active player population. This game cannot be played as intended.
This is a badly made abandoned Early Access PvP arena that's functionally a bit of a ripoff of Dead by Daylight only with rats vs exterminator... but there's no players, of course. The idea is almost cute, the exterminator has a wide swath of tools to use like rat traps, and the rats get to cause chaos, but as always with these kinds of games it boils down to the quality of the technical delivery and the ability to attract and retain players. Two things this didn't do. So, "Rat Royal" is a dead PvP game. Why did it fail? It's video game autopsy time! Almost every PvP exclusive game on Steam fails. Only a tiny proportion of them "go viral". This game failed for many of the same reasons those others fail. The chief of which is the developer thinking that their game will "go viral" without actually creating any reason for it do so. Competition amongst PvP centric games is extreme, and there's only a finite player base to appeal to. This game failed to reach any kind of critical mass and died as a result. Let's go into some of the reasons this particular game failed to appeal to gamers, despite the zero up front cost. First and foremost, there's no meaningful single player content. The developer gambled that other players would be an acceptable substitute for adding storytelling, level design etc to the Game. They lost that bet. Without a huge community of players or single player content to add a lasting value to the game, the game dies. Developers must learn that other players are not an acceptable substitute for adding content to a game. The developers abandoned this 7 months ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. I'm not sure if this is an asset flip, but it's one of those cases where the assets just look much better than the rest of the quality of the game... a glaring inconsistency. There's no evidence, but as always, the biggest problem with asset flips besides the plagiarism is the deplorably low quality of the other aspects of the game, and even if the game assets are genuinely created for the game, the quality of the rest of the game is indistinguishable from that of asset flips. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. There's no initial download price, but the developer was charging $6 USD for this. Worse, they intended to bump up that price if they could ever be bothered to continue making the game (they could not). Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It seems like a nice gesture for the game to have no up-front cost anymore, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. This is also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who showed enough questionable judgement to pay money for this... nobody got refunded. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 13 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. All other issues aside (any of which would disqualify this from being worth your time), this is a game that relies on other players for it to be viable, and because there's not enough players, it's not viable. I can't recommend anyone downloads this, it's basically dead.

RatRoyal is a brilliantly crafted game that immerses players in a captivating dual experience. Whether scurrying about as resourceful rats striving to complete tasks or donning the mantle of relentless exterminators, the gameplay is both dynamic and engaging. The tasks for rats are ingeniously designed, adding a layer of strategy, while the exterminator role brings intense action. The balance between the two factions creates a riveting and unpredictable atmosphere. Kudos to the developers for delivering an innovative and thoroughly enjoyable gaming experience!
