UPDATE the devs have been constantly updating the game adding multiple levels and changes that make the game far better than it was on my original review. the belt issue is pretty much completely solved allowing much easier reloading while moving and snapping to your hand for drawing your handgun or magazines. the new courses and target implementation is fantastic and the tournaments are a welcome addition as it really does help simulate some of the stresses of an actual competition. all in all im very happy with the game and all the improvements that have been implemented as well as how responsive and active the devs are to suggestion and criticisms from actual competative shooters like myself. as a competitive shooter this is an absolute godsend due to the ammo crisis right now. one major gripe i have is with the belt, i lose so much time fumbling with trying to find mags and the holster that i end up having to stop and look down to do anything with it as if i try to move while looking at my belt i more often than not step outside the course and get a penalty. the belt definitely needs some fine tuning as far as tracking with the headset and body position. aside from that the course layouts are fantastic and its addicting enough to sit and run the same course multiple times chasing after that fastest time.
This game feels really cartoonistic and guns feel static but its mostly alright, but there is a very limited quantity of firearms in this game that makes it feel somewhat bland. Yeah you get the basics that one would come across like a 2011, Glock, AR15 and an AK, but nothing that is somewhat different like a Brownells BRN-180, SIG P210 Target, SIG MPX or MCX. The nicest thing about it is that it has really nice competition stages, and I completed a few, its good, but feels lacking somehow, like maybe it needs some more texture and graphics because everything just becomes a very basic blur, all weapons have zero scratches, dings, etc. All in all, it feels flat and basic. While the game isn't bad, there really just is better options on the market for better VR shooting games like Hotdogs, Horseshoes & Handgrenades (H3VR), Gunworld VR, or even Boneworks/Bonelab. All of these games have mods (possibly besides Gunworld?), and have people that put time to add extra content. I have not seen that with this game, it doesn't have a large community as judged by the VERY limited number of reviews. This game mainly is not worth $30 USD for the content given, it should really be $15 USD as a max. You can purchase H3VR for 10 dollars less than this game and easily get 40 times the content and updates compared to this game, not to mention it is more realistic for firearm manipulation and attachments and has a huge modding community. You can then make your own firing courses, and play around with them, etc. If on sale for 10 dollars it might be worth the money. Just doesn't compare to H3VR which is 20 dollars, 10 dollars less than this.
best-feeling shooting sports sim I've tried, and courses are well-designed
One of the best VR shooting experiences I've come across so far. No enemies who challenge your tolerance for motion sickness, only targets that you can take on at your own pace. If you enjoy challenging yourself and practicing until you nail a result that you find satisfying, this game is for you. It's kinda like rally.
Very early in development but already pretty nice; look forward to seeing more content (guns, customizables) If you're into any sort of action/practical shooting replayability is obviously very high, easy to end up running a stage over and over trying to shave that .5 second off I usually shoot stock/production/trooper sort of things, so I do hope to see some more "plain jane" stuff added and maybe an option to adjust where things are on my belt and/or the ability to move pouches to my chest
So far it's a pretty nice game, they have about 12 courses I think but they're fun to keep retrying. It's worth the money.
stinky
This game is amazing! If you are a fan of or have ever competed in any shooting contest, this is it! I just got the game and i can tell im gonna play the CRAP out of this. Some suggestions to settings tho: Add a click right or left to turn around instead of the swipe thing going on because that gets easily triggered. Lock the belt completely to head movement! The way it is now i have to look down every time i go for a mag or my pistol because i dont know what rotation the belt has gone to. Theres also a slight bug when you reach for the gun after the timer starts. If you have your hand ready (gun lights up) to grab it, as the timer starts you sortof have to reset your hand position in order to grab it again which isnt a big deal but a quality fix. If these things get fixed and you keep adding content, i will forever play this game. It is literally all that iv'e wanted out of vr since i got my first vive headset!
Pretty good experience, mostly intuitive with a Valve Index. I found a bug, where resting a finger on the controller's trigger while trying to manipulate objects would sometimes fire a pistol round, when my in-game hands were empty. Some awkwardness with long-arms, mostly stemming from VR manipulation. I would definitely like to see the ability to adjust the VR experience to map to myself better, regarding longarm stock length, and belt location. One of the best parts of the game is the layout, experience, and narrator/guide encourage me to follow range safety rules. As the game is, I expect to get a lot of enjoyment out of it, and can't wait to see the improvements.
im not a type or person to write a review but don't waste your money on this game not worth the 30 buck nor on sale. the game gets boring after an hour, cant even turn the music off it gets annoying after like 20 min of playing, the gun stock calibrator doesn't even work so your forces to play without one not a big deal but would be nice if it worked, for rifles you only get to choose between LPVO and a red dot, forced to use one or another haft the time the redot covers the whole target only time the red dots usable is on the pistols. theirs a lot more annoying things about the game you will find out if for some reason you decide to buy this game anyways. honestly i would recommend looking into h3vr or keep looking through the vr games till you find something you enjoy. just don't get this game trust me you will end up refunding it in an hour and half maybe less.
