About
Join over 3 million players who have already purchased Ranch Simulator on Steam!
It was once your grandfather’s pride-and-joy, but your family ranch has fallen on hard times and it’s up to you to turn things around. Sitting in a remote forested valley, the dilapidated homestead will test all your abilities as you attempt to turn it into the most prosperous ranch in the region – either alone or in up to four player co-op multiplayer.
The years have not been kind to your family ranch and it will take time and money to restore it to its former glory. Buy tools from the local hardware store and purchase a range of vehicles from the garage to help with your rebuilding projects. Renovate the main house, decide what livestock you want to farm and construct the barns, pens and runs you’ll need to keep them safe and secure.
Grand building projects are one thing. Paying for them? That’ll come down to your ranching skills. Overseeing a profitable operation is all about the day-to-day. Once you’ve selected and taken on your livestock, regular feeding and watering will keep them healthy. Successful breeding and careful rearing of the young will help boost the numbers in your herds and flocks — and the more produce you have to sell, the more income you’ll receive for all that hard work.
Expand your ranch enterprise by farming crops, producing sausages and cheese and even training and selling horses.
There’s a large open-world environment outside your cosy homestead and it’s teeming with wildlife. So when you feel like slowing the pace, why not grab your trusty rifle and head out into the forest to stalk deer and hunt bears? But remember, the wilderness lives by its own laws and you aren’t the only skilled hunter in the neighbourhood. Sometimes your steady hand and sharp eyes will also be needed back on the ranch to stop hungry wolves turning your off-grid dream into a nightmare.
I'd give this game a 5/10.
I honestly love this game. My best friend bought it for me so I could be their slave and do all the chores . XD We've spent a lot of time playing it together, but it feels like the game is missing so many things. The biggest issue is the performance. Once you start getting a lot of animals I'm talking around 100 pigs), the FPS drops so badly that it becomes almost unplyable. It can go down to like 5–10 FPS, which is crazy. I also wish there were more furniture and decoration options. It would make building the ranch so much more fun. The town also feels pretty empty and lacks detail. This game has so much potential, but it feels unfinished. Another thing is the bugs. We've had pigs randomly flying around, which is funny at first but gets annoying after a while. The lag combined with all the bugs can make the game really frustrating. One feature I'd love to see is dedicated servers. My best friend and I live on different continents, so it's a pain having to ask her to leave her PC on just so we can play together. Please let us turn off thunderstorms and sandstorms too. They're cool the first few times, but after a while they're just annoying. And the lights... they're insanely bright. It honestly feels like getting flashbanged every time you turn them on. [p I also wish we coud rename our livestock and pets. It would make them feel a lot more personal. Another reason I'm holding off on buying the DLC is because, in its current state, I don't think it's worth the price. I'd rather see the base game get more content and improvements first. Lastly, where are all the bears and rabbits? I've explored almost the entire map and barely found any. It would be nice to see more wildlife around. I really hope the developers come back and continue updating this game because I genuinely enjoy it. It has so much potential to be one of the best ranch simulators out there, but right now it's being held back by poor optimization, bugs, and the lack of new content. I still have fun playing it with my best friend, and I truly hope this game gets the attention it deserves.
Chill game.
