This is a stand-still 360 archery wave shooter / "bullet or arrow hell" rogue-lite that is quasi on-rails. What I mean by that is that you're basically on a raft that goes forward without your input in the water. However, you can paddle side to side to avoid obstacles. Meanwhile, you can dodge side to side to avoid enemy projectiles and you can even use a shield to protect you against some types of damage. I believe you have 3 deaths and you can get upgrades after beating a boss.
You will be shooting a ton of arrows. Unfortunately, while the bow & arrow mechanic is passable, it just isn't as good as in other VR games such as In Death or Sacralith or Elven Assassin. Also, the game does start out rather slowly with a limited number of enemy types. Plus, you will be looking at the same environment for each level. At least you do get new enemy types, new bosses, & upgrades. You also have 4 arrow types (explosive, health, piercing & slow time).
While trying to shoot enemies accurately, you also have to paddle left or right to avoid rocks or explosive barrels (or you can shoot them). You can block arrows, but you can't block magical projectiles. Unfortunately, sometimes enemy projectiles block your line of sight. Keep in mind, you're moving while you're trying to shoot which does cause a bit of a difficulty, especially later on in the game when you're facing enemies that fly around & with several projectiles blocking your view.
This game is challenging. I found that I had to use health arrows on normal difficulty or else I would die even on the first level. Also, after the third level, my arm really started to hurt from all the shooting. The boss fights were definitely the best part of this game, as well as the upgrades. However, looking at the same environment & having to restart after a few deaths really soured the experience (especially since your arm tends to get tired). I don't know, I think maybe in 2021 this type of game is outdated now. This would have been great back in 2017 VR.
