Solid mounted archery and magic arcade action. Super smooth at 144hz. Went down well with everyone I've shown so far. Some polish needed in the UI menus pre-game, maybe index controller default position is a bit weird... but that was just first impressions before playing the game. Check settings for left handed mode. Do the tutorial or just jump in to play and figure it out. I did the tutorial after a few runs. Worked most of it out. Basically... Shoot everything. .... Everything you can hit..... The game is super smooth in the headset. Dev is actively taking feedback. Always a plus. Definitely not gonna skip arms day playing this game. Will be riding out for higher scores and substantially developed arms very soon.
Have you ever wondered what it feels like to take some mushrooms and then play a below average VR arcade archery game? Well buy this game to find out ... or not. Not is what I recommend.
The game is simple to learn and easy to understand, but ones you think you fully explored all spells you will always find a new one. The riding fell natural and different worlds make it an exiting ride.
Great game I'm not really into bow and arrow type games because my aim sucks and am very fidgity (as you'll see in the game play footage) lol, but I received a free key and decided to give it try. Bow and arrow mechanics are pretty clean cut and it helped improve my aim. The music is great and it fits well with the game. Graphics are low poly reminds me of Superhot but everything well done. Everything runs smoothly have not seen any bugs or glitches so far. It would be cool to have a Multiplayer Co op mode but yeah overall this a great gane. I played it on Quest Pro using Virtual Desktop https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXTt70brx4U
Easy to get started but has a lot of depth. Lots of replayability potential, great if you like fast-paced action or archery games.
Nice atmospheric graphics, very easy to play, also has a left-handed feature which is very useful and not always available in games. Definitely recommend!
Crystal Riders VR takes the familiar framework of an endless runner and reinvents it for virtual reality by leaning heavily into physicality, momentum, and magical spectacle. Rather than simply dodging obstacles or following preset lanes, you are placed onto a high-speed track through fantastical landscapes while wielding a bow infused with elemental power. This hybrid design creates a rhythm unlike most VR titles: movement is constant, the world scrolls relentlessly toward you, and every second demands quick aiming, rapid decision-making, and careful positioning. From the moment a run begins, Crystal Riders VR delivers a rush of sensory engagement that taps into the immersive strength of VR as a medium. At the core of the experience is the bow itself, which feels intentionally crafted to take advantage of the player’s physical movements. Drawing, aiming, and releasing arrows feels natural and reactive, and the addition of elemental crystals introduces an evolving tactical layer. As you ride through each shifting environment, you fire at floating crystals that unlock new powers — fire arrows that erupt on impact, lightning bolts that chain across enemies, or magical projectiles that slice through multiple targets. The escalation of abilities over the course of a run gives the game a satisfying progression curve, even though progression resets at the end of each session. This sense of “build-up within a single run” makes the game feel dynamic and encourages experimenting with different magical combinations. The variety of environments helps to alleviate the repetition inherent in runner-style gameplay. Forest clearings, volcanic passages, frozen caverns, and surreal dreamscapes blur past you as hazards and enemies appear in unpredictable patterns. Each biome has its own visual identity and pacing, offering opportunities for both intense challenges and brief moments of spectacle. The lighting, particle effects, and overall art style lean toward vibrant and stylized rather than realistic, which supports the fast action and ensures clear visual readability even when the ride becomes chaotic. The game’s sense of scale — towering crystal formations, sweeping vistas, and enemies emerging from multiple angles — also adds to the thrill of movement. Because Crystal Riders VR is built around constant motion, comfort and accessibility matter, and the game approaches these concerns with a surprising degree of flexibility. The auto-scaling difficulty allows newcomers to ease into the action without being immediately overwhelmed, while experienced players can enjoy escalating challenges at higher speeds. The absence of loading screens between levels keeps the momentum flowing, creating the feeling that you’re embarking on a continuous journey rather than segmented stages. However, the physical demands of continuous aiming, twisting, and shooting can be fatiguing over long sessions, and players sensitive to VR motion may need to pace themselves. The game’s strengths — speed and intensity — can also be the very things that make it tiring. One area where the game’s indie nature becomes apparent is in the overall depth of progression. While each run offers escalating magic and varied environments, the broader meta-progression is limited. There are no extensive upgrade trees, permanent unlocks, or narrative threads to follow outside of the core loop. After several hours, players may find that they’ve seen the majority of what the game has to offer in terms of mechanical variation. The replayability comes more from mastering the rhythm of archery-at-speed and chasing higher performance rather than from uncovering new content or long-term growth systems. This design choice keeps the game focused but also narrows its appeal to those who enjoy repetition driven by skill rather than persistent rewards. Despite these limitations, Crystal Riders VR succeeds in providing a VR experience centered on movement, spectacle, and instinctive combat. It’s the type of game that shines in short, energetic bursts — the kind of title you boot up to feel the exhilaration of flight, archery, and magic all merging into one rapid-fire session. When everything aligns — when you’re weaving through obstacles, unleashing elemental barrages, and watching the world blur past in vivid colors — the game captures a sense of high-fantasy exhilaration that’s difficult to replicate outside of VR. Ultimately, Crystal Riders VR thrives on its immediacy and physical engagement. It isn’t a deep RPG or a story-driven adventure; instead, it offers a polished arcade-like experience with a magical twist. For VR players seeking an accessible but energetic action title — especially those who enjoy bow mechanics or fantasy-style spellcasting — it delivers a memorable and engaging ride. Its combination of fast movement, elemental variety, and satisfying physical interaction gives it a unique niche, making it an enjoyable addition to the library of anyone looking for a burst of VR-powered excitement. Very addictive game!!
Good action and archery game. It has a variety of ways to use the bow, so it's cool learning which weapon is best in what situation. I like the alternative weapon as well because it allows you to rest from the bow frequently. I like the ever-changing and colorful landscapes and enemies, it enables a lot of competition potential. It's also worth mentioning that you can customize a lot of stuff in the settings such as controller offsets and rotation, left-handed, etc... Definitely recommended!
Nice minimalistic UI. The game takes a bit to launch, but once open, there are no other loading times. Just press play and get right into it. Don't skip the tutorial at the start like I did, because it's very short and very useful.
