This was on my wishlist for a while, and I got it on sale. Now that I've played it I'm looking back and thinking... 'WHY did I wishlist this?' I think it's because the trailer video made the game look like it involved exploration and gathering things with a little animal friend. Instead it's 100% linear and you're just answering trivia questions or clicking to move around to get to the next part of the narrative. The narrative itself is fairly minimalist relationship stuff. Opportunities to wander off the main path are limited to the occasional hidden carrots, which can be collected to unlock a bonus level. The visuals are cute, the music is cute, the critters are cute. The game can be played through in about an hour. It's also boring and I wouldn't recommend it.
Cute boring mouse clicker with decent boring music. Played it to chapter 12 until I quit. The story is meh and tells wrong things on how one should end a relationship (hint: do not leave without a trace IRL). If you like to don't have to think while playing and have only one arm with only one finger for the mouse clicker, this game is for you. Buy it when it's 50% off or more.
Extremely sad story about lazy, dull rabbit and his thoughts about carrot and relationships. Grafics, especially weather (I mostly liked snow map and prickly forest with mushroomes) is very beautiful, dialogs is simple and minigame with racing can cause epileptic seizures. Love it anyway.
Joguei na Páscoa em meu canal e sinceramente amei a história. Linda e profunda. Parabéns
A cute game with not very much depth. The carrots were relatively easy to find (with the exception of one which was locked behind an obnoxious mini-game and another which was actually quite cleverly hidden) and the story straight-forward. All achievements were also were acquired just by completing story objectives (and finding carrots). The game felt too simple for me to enjoy. Certainly not gonna leave a lasting impression on me.
A cute little game
Rabbit Story is an indie adventure developed and published by Slava Bushuev that tells an emotionally driven tale through a cast of charming anthropomorphic characters. While its colorful visuals and gentle presentation may initially suggest a lighthearted journey suitable for all ages, the game gradually unfolds into a more thoughtful narrative centered on friendship, regret, forgiveness, and the emotional consequences of seemingly ordinary mistakes. Rather than emphasizing action or difficult gameplay, Rabbit Story invites players to experience a heartfelt adventure where the story remains the primary focus from beginning to end. The narrative begins with Rabbit accidentally forgetting Kitty's birthday, an innocent oversight that unexpectedly changes the course of both characters' lives. Kitty's disappointment creates emotional distance between them, leaving Rabbit to deal with feelings of guilt and loneliness as he continues his journey. Along the way, he encounters Doggy, who becomes an important companion, adding another layer to the story before Rabbit eventually faces Kitty once again. Although the premise is simple, the game effectively explores themes of broken relationships, second chances, and personal growth without becoming overly dramatic. Its emotional message is easy to understand, allowing players of different ages to connect with the characters and their experiences. Gameplay is intentionally straightforward, making Rabbit Story accessible even for players who are new to adventure games. Exploration serves as the foundation of the experience, with light interactions and uncomplicated progression keeping attention focused on the unfolding narrative rather than mechanical complexity. There are no demanding puzzles or intense combat sequences to interrupt the pacing. Instead, the game encourages players to appreciate the environments, absorb the atmosphere, and follow Rabbit's emotional journey at a relaxed pace. While experienced players may find the mechanics fairly basic, the simplicity works well with the game's storytelling ambitions. One of Rabbit Story's most appealing qualities is its visual direction. The colorful low-poly environments are attractive without attempting technical realism, creating a fairy tale-like atmosphere that complements the emotional tone of the adventure. As Rabbit's journey progresses, the scenery evolves alongside the story, reflecting changes in mood while maintaining a distinctive artistic identity. The expressive character animations, despite their minimalist design, communicate feelings effectively, allowing emotional moments to resonate without requiring excessive dialogue. The audio presentation also contributes significantly to the experience. Soft, reflective music accompanies each stage of Rabbit's adventure, reinforcing both moments of hope and scenes of sadness. Rather than overwhelming the player with dramatic orchestration, the soundtrack quietly supports the storytelling, helping create an immersive atmosphere throughout the relatively short adventure. Combined with ambient environmental sounds and the game's visual style, the music gives Rabbit Story a surprisingly memorable personality despite its modest production scale. Although the game succeeds in delivering its intended emotional impact, it is not without limitations. Its short running time means certain relationships and story developments could have benefited from greater depth, and players seeking extensive gameplay systems or replay value may finish the adventure wanting more. The exploration mechanics also remain fairly consistent throughout the experience, offering little variation beyond advancing the narrative. However, these shortcomings are balanced by the game's clear focus on emotional storytelling, and the concise length helps ensure the experience never feels unnecessarily stretched. Rabbit Story stands out as an example of how a small independent project can tell a meaningful story through simplicity and sincerity. Instead of relying on spectacle or complicated mechanics, it builds its identity around relatable emotions, accessible gameplay, and an appealing artistic style. The game succeeds in reminding players that even small actions can have lasting emotional consequences, delivering a touching experience that remains memorable long after the credits roll. Those looking for a relaxing, story-centered adventure with heartfelt themes will likely find plenty to appreciate, even if they should not expect deep gameplay or lengthy content. Rating: 7/10
Some questions are left unanswered, but it is really cute, characters and visuals, and the difficulty is fair. 8/10
Edit: The things here are waaay more complicated than “why this and why not that”. Like a bunch of gears working out of pace until everything fall apart. One can realize it soon, and other long after.
Graphic are cute and the music is amazing but this game is definitely lacking story and better playablity. The story almost sounds AI generated and ends very abruptly without giving you any type of feeling of completion. The characters have no personality whatsoever. I was also annoyed that there wasn't an option to sprint or run. I feel like controller gameplay could help too. Also it's lacking a map, tutorial, and some type of guidance on where to go next. I thought I was going to call it quits in the snow place. Overall there is potential here but it really needs a good rework. I hope the devs learn from this and create even better amazing games.
The game was nice and short, I liked it. It's exactly what you may see in the trailer.
