R.B.I. Baseball 20

I was actually excited for this game since we don't get baseball games on PC but this is just terrible. The AI is cheap, there's no multiplayer and the franchise mode is barebones. I had to get a refund.

buy super mega baseball instead. its cool to have the teams but thats where it ends. bad physics, clumsy animations and copy, pasted character models make this pretty lame.

Enjoy it for what it is, not what it isn't. A great fun sim-cade of baseball. Easy to pick up and your not drowned in stats and depth that drain your life away. I'm loving it after playing a few exhibitions. The power can be held down 100% early and stay that way but your timing has to be spot on hence people having trouble hitting. You can hold back on power and get better contact if you don't cheese. It looks great and plays nice and swift and is great fun. :D

I pre-ordered this game with the hopes that it would be a good baseball game to play while there is no baseball on (Written during COVID-19 outbreak). The new batting and pitching mechanics are better than RBI 19 but batting can be difficult and you will strike out a lot. Fielding is very weird in that the animations are broken as hell. the ball goes over the glove of a diving shortstop BUT... he actually caught it! Popups can be hard to field surprisingly because you will get under the ball and the player will just let it drop right in front of them. I love the artwork but the game is a no-go. If you are looking for a good baseball game then Super Mega Baseball 2 is good and I highly recommend that over RBI 20. RBI Baseball 20 was a swing and a miss for me.

So after being a huge Super Mega Baseball fan for years, I decided to try R.B.I. just to see what it was like. The initial draw is the MLB license, and this game does a great job representing MLB players. The big thing about this game is the hitting mechanic... it is really hard! It takes a lot of practice to get even decent at it. Pitching is a cool mechanic, and I liked the way it worked a lot. Especially the idea of being able to take speed off your pitches manually. Overall, if you like baseball, you will like this. Not perfect, but passable for MLB fans. If I had to grade on a 1-10 scale, I would say... 7.5.

Let's start by saying this is NOT "The Show" and it was never meant to be. I love that you can play a quick game in about 30-40 minutes. The controls on keyboard are a little clunky and I wish the developers would give us a keyboard layout and even better, a way to map them the way we see fit. Other than that, this has the current MLB rosters, decent graphics, and despite some odd keyboard controls, it's not bad at all. I'm happy to see the game back on PC!

Well I was excited when I saw a baseball game on Steam. So excited I pre-ordered without a second thought. I was hoping for a baseball experience like [b]MLB 2K11[/b]. Now that was a baseball game. There was a career, custom players and you could progressively grow your custom player. Yes, that was never promised for [i]R.B.I. Baseball 20[/i]. But I think it worth mentioning just to illustrate that from the word go, [i]R.B.I. Baseball 20[/i] will never live up that standard. So here I was pre-ordering. What a disaster. I stuck with it and now have 5 hours game time. I should have stopped at the one-hour mark and request a refund. Now why would that be? Here’s just some reasons. [list] [*] The controls are terrible. You can play with either keyboard (my preference) or controller. So, the keys cannot be customized. [*] And here’s the strange part. Almost every ball I hit goes foul to left field. Not centre field or right field – left field. [*] The ball physics is atrocious. Get a good hit (which is rare) the ball seems to travel over a fielder’s head and then it seems the fielder is a ball magnet. The hitter is out without exception. In some instances, the ball may land in the dirt and before the fielder catches the ball, and it’s out. [*] I had one instance were the batter was hit by the pitch and it was a strike. Really? I’m no baseball expert so help me if I’m wrong. Isn’t that supposed to be a walk instead of a strike. [/list] Do I enjoy this game? [b]No[/b] Do I recommend this game? [b]No[/b] Will I play it again? Maybe for the simple reason that I’m stuck with it. Money down the drain. I’ve learned my lesson with MLB that’s for sure. Never again will I buy a game from them. How [i]R.B.I. Baseball 20[/i] can be the official baseball game baffles my mind.
