Quizality - Gamers Edition is an on-rails quiz game comprised of three levels; each dedicated to a different age of gaming and sporting a different environment, vehicle, and soundtrack. It's not only unique in the fact that it's a quiz game inside virtual reality, but also in that the player is automatically moved around the map. Thanks to the large text and clear font, there's no struggle to read any of the questions and potential answers. It all surprisingly works very well together.
Obviously, this title will not appeal to everyone. Only those with fairly broad gaming knowledge will have a good time here. There are some solutions that are widely known, but the largest portion of the 75 questions in the base game are fairly in-depth. The three levels cover almost the entirety of each era of gaming history; from the golden age of the Atari, Nintendo, and Genesis, through the classics of Playstation and early PC gaming, all the way to modern day releases that include Mass Effect, The Elder Scrolls, and Assassin's Creed.
If you're thinking of picking up Quizality for party play, let it be noted that it's best played as a solo endeavor. The gameplay features on-rails mechanics, where you ride around in an auto-moving vehicle, and you will be stopped at various intervals to answer questions. Along the way you can aim at point pick-ups to increase your score. There's no time for headset swapping, so unless you designate one person as the player and have everyone else shout out the answer, it doesn't work well for local multiplayer.
For what it is, Quizality is extremely well done. It's well thought out, relaxing, incomparable to all other VR releases, and something easy to jump in to if you're coming home from a long day and wanting to just unwind. As some of the negative reviews suggest, many players may find this game "boring" since it's not filled with bullets and explosions. However, there needs to be some form of assortment, and UV Games Ltd have brought a solid concept to the table. It's just too bad they didn't continue adding content.
