Broken progress that makes the game unplayable in the first few minutes is not a good sign. Although the game continues from the first title, you are not required to know the entire story. The plot revolves around a man who uses a magic book to bring a mouse toy to life. When one of these spells backfires and spreads to other things, the man must find a way to reverse the spell. Graphics are passable, but the colors aren't spectacular because the game only has a limited color palette. Although some things have a more distinct color to make them easier to spot, the game does not stand out. Regardless of your graphics settings, the game plays relatively well and is optimized. One major issue is the lack of subtitles. The voices are fine, but you may lose out on important information because you are unable to understand everything. Sometimes there is voice overlap because you triggered the next line or a cutscene. Because you cannot skip cutscenes, this can become really frustrating. This is an adventure game in which you must look for items and engage in light combat. The controls are similar to those in any first-person game, with movement, jumping, and crunching. Combat is simple: all you have to do is hold down the attack button. Enemies die after a few hits, so it isn't a major obstacle. Because you get to control two characters, the controls stay the same for both of them. You can only switch characters at designated locations on the ground, although you can switch back to human at any time. Sadly, the mechanic is broken in several ways. First, when you switch on a designated spot, the game sometimes transports you back to a checkpoint. Second, the switch sometimes doesn't work and instead of the mouse you still control the human. Third, if you press switch too many times, the game crashes. The first stage does not offer a good first impression because the objective triggers are broken. For instance, if you keep pressing into a plank that is blocking a door, you will be able to unlock the last objective and leave the stage. However, you will start the second stage without any of the game's mechanics and become stuck. Unfortunately, even if you complete all of the objectives, the situation does not improve. Once you reach the second stage, you are unable to interact with anything. None of the doors open or provide hints, and all you can do is press the digits on the keypad. You will not be able to proceed because you do not know the code. The last issue can occur when you press the "esc" button, which opens a pause menu. This can occasionally disrupt gameplay by allowing you to move around while the pause menu is still visible. But if you press the »esc« button again, you lose all control. Pressing the pause button can also mess up cutsccenes so it's best to leave it alone.
I liked it, but man it's jank. one section requires you to rat platform, but for some reason the hitboxes are like 1:1 with the objects, and anything not parallel to the floor is slippery for some reason. as the game goes on, they just enemy spam you and your damage aint ever amazing, so combat isn't much to write home about. any non-boss enemy is just a mindless chaser, except one boss, who is just a guy who chases you mindlessly. they name the mouse 5, then give you a mouse named 1, but there's only 3 rats. 2 and 4 are missing, but there's enough levels that there could have been 2 additional rats with other mechanics or something. you only get 1 puzzle object with the electric rat, you have an inventory, but it doesnt matter, to solve a code puzzle, you have to just find the street number of the building, cause there's no notes nearby, just a weak password, idk, there's a bunch of odd choices made for this game. sometimes things would break and I would have to reload, but I managed to get through the whole thing.
Not bad
