About

The Summer of 1999. After years of begging, your parents have finally sent you off to Camp Lilypad, your dream sleep-away camp on a picturesque lake. Surely this will be a summer to remember. But one night, a fellow camper double-dog-dares you to “borrow” a rowboat and sneak into the neighboring camp across the lake.
A camp full of clowns. And they don’t take too kindly to trespassers.

Run. Hide. Fight (if you must).
Survive until you can return to the safe side of the lake. Along the way, uncover the disturbing truth behind Clown Camp. Find environmental clues and postcards among the creaking cabins and bristling pine trees. A sharp eye will uncover many secrets hidden in the darkness (some of which may be best left unfound). Carefully manage a small inventory that is essential to survival.

Bask in the dithered glow of a design philosophy inspired by the days when surviving horror required both courage AND skill. Low poly 3D models, uncanny animations, grainy filters, tight narrative, and challenging gameplay take center stage once again. Additional modern quality of life features provide wider accessibility options on top of an intentionally retro base experience throughout a 3-5 hour story mode.

An extremely tight and genuinely creepy survival horror game. The combat is melee focused but challenging. The notes scattered about are really well written and genuinely eerie. Clown Camp takes what could have easily been another paint-by-numbers-PSX-styled-run-and-hide game, and instead delivers a fresh and deep experience.
Cute little game. Short and doesn't overstay its welcome. Just engaging enough with an interesting enough premise.
At first thought I didn't expect the game to be this scary. Creepy atmosphere and some good jump scares. I did turn unlimited stamina on because you have to run around a lot to avoid enemies/go to the other side of camp. The game also has some good lore so be sure to read all the notes laying around. Overall a fun, enjoyable experience! Would ofcourse not recommend if you're afraid of clowns.
I think horror and comedy are really close neighbours for me. It's not unusual for me to try and splice the two together. I like laughing away tension and Clown Camp grants me that. It's a quirky and unique project that's made with heart and I can't not love that. I hope that it's the start of many great continuations and ideas. The combat is unfortunately quite exploitable, but after finishing the game I did catch myself wondering-... was I ever even supposed to fight anything? Maybe not. Maybe I was the real clown after all.
Check out my playthrough here: https://youtu.be/AJMcOSuor80 Clown Camp scratches that itch for a fun and spooky summer camp horror experience. At its core, it borrows the main Resident Evil gameplay loop of exploring spooky environments, avoiding or fighting enemies, learning lore from notes, and searching for items to progress the story and escape the camp. The game leans into light-hearted horror comedy elements with some goofy voice-acting and lore notes that made me chuckle. I am personally a fan of low-poly indie horror games and this one was very aesthetically pleasing to me. The environments were fun and creepy. The clowns all have unique personalities to them. Controls feel nice. Combat is mostly simple melee, but it’s effective enough. I also enjoyed the side quest of hunting for 99 ducks. Lots of nice accessibility options too, I am particularly happy there is an option to turn off head bob (which always makes me motion sick). You can also disable stamina and limited saves, if that suits your playstyle.
Great game! Had way more content than I expected! I had a fun clowning around.
I found playing this game to be a very enjoyable experience - especially when it came to finding the collectables, though I will note there is a small bug with the collectable tracker you can find hidden in the game where it claims a collectable is in one area when it is instead in a different one, had me running around like crazy trying to find it where it wasn't. But that didn't stop me from finding them all anyway! And yes, there is an actual in-game reward for getting all of them, however I won’t spoil what it is. Beyond the collectables, the story was engaging and the environments were both creepy and satisfying to explore. I was able to beat the game in about four hours (would have been faster if I wasn't hunting the collectables) but nonetheless I found it well worth the price. Hoping to see more updates to this game, while I don’t know what they would look like I have nothing but high hopes! 10/10
It's a little above okay. It's genuinely charming. The price is totally fair. To note, these aren't "Playstation 1" graphics, they're "PSX" graphics. That may sound redundant to a lot of you, but the reality is that the itch.io-esque status of "PSX" really has lent itself to a Playstation-inspired aesthetic, not one that actually follows the rules or honest appearance of the console whatsoever. But that's fine, and we can tell from the trailers and screenshots. The game isn't so much scary as it is whimsical and weird. Combat was filler, which is par-the-course for survival horror games, but I will say I was still somewhat disappointed that every encounter (without going into more details) operated in the exact same way, which was to stun-lock until you were low on stamina, then turn and walk to outpace the enemy (as the enemies can't attack and move simultaneously) before repeating. The saving system being kept in tents was okay in retrospect, but otherwise the uncertainty of if there was even a second save point at all in the game had me backtracking to the initial save point repeatedly, which scolded the pace of the game. I think this would have benefitted more from more save points, or perhaps being able to collect those walkmans as portable, consumable saves (scope creep, I know, sorry). If there was anything to genuinely be critical of or hope for patching, it might be the audio mixing, as some characters (usually in context-sensitive situations) were incredibly loud, but a lot of in-game voices were very, very quiet. Having to find 99 ducks was a bit mind-boggling, but I came to appreciate it, especially when the stamina upgrades really do help pad things out, but I wish the duck icons on the map were more specific for the ones which were in massive outside areas. Ideally, I think stamina simply shouldn't drain if there were no alerted enemies or any enemies in the area, as this was probably the biggest feeling of time-waste. I'd give this game a strong (positive) 6 in contrast to other indie-horror games, and maybe a soft 7 on how well I feel the developer achieved their idea overall.
Finally they made a game for Twitter users
Clown Camp was exactly the kind of retro survival horror game I was hoping for. The PS1-inspired visuals and creepy summer camp setting create a fantastic atmosphere, and the killer clowns are genuinely unsettling without feeling too silly. I really enjoyed the exploration, resource management, and the steady sense of tension throughout the game. It captures the feel of classic survival horror while still feeling approachable and modern. If you're a fan of old-school horror games, this one is definitely worth checking out.
