It looks like a classic from the 8 bit era, but plays even better. An arcade-like action game with an emphasis on forward progression and doing better each run. The player movement feels great and is very precise; every time I died was definitely a lack of skill (or being unfamiliar with an enemy's moveset) and not the result of clunky controls. The levels have a little randomization to keep new runs fresh. The power-ups are also different each time, with various swords enhancing offensive capability and helmets giving new abilities like jumping higher and floating. Patches then further enhance your abilities, if you can hold onto your sword and helmet. When you die, you get a breakdown of how well you did, instead of an abstract score. This definitely helps motivate me to keep playing and maybe even beat the game. EDIT: Oh hey there's also Castlevania-style sub-items too.
Fantastic game with addictive gameplay. Love how it feels like a Genesis game of old.

*ROG Ally verified* (Unofficially) A very fun polished game that brings back the old NES vibe but bringing something new to the table. Don’t let the price fool you thinking it will be one of those generic platformers. It has a cool jump attack mechanic that flows, and the boss battles are extremely rewarding and fun. I will beat the hydra dungeon one day. Also one of the cool features in this game is the opportunity to practice the bosses you fought, and an arena mode where you fight them in a different stage for example a bridge with lava as opposed to the standard room. Considering the greatness of the other titles, I knew this was going to be good. Highly recommend.
The only problem this game has is that there's not more of it.
Español: Has creado un juego muy interesante con una estética reminiscente de Wonderboy in Monster World, pero con gráficos que evocan la era de la NES de Nintendo y una banda sonora descomunal. Magnífico trabajo. English: With an aesthetic reminiscent of Wonderboy in Monster World, but with graphics that seem to be taken straight from a Nintendo NES, and with an enormous, impressive soundtrack, you've created a very interesting game. Magnificent work.
game reminds me of how in dark souls the hard part is going to the boss room unscathed so you can fight the boss more easily. lmao
