About
Intellica believes that positivity and happiness are the keys to self-sustaining thinking programs. By taking part in the A.M.T. Study, you can help make it happen!
QUALIA is a retro-inspired Interactive Fiction text game where you analyze and categorize two participants based on their responses to a series of questions. Are they really human? Are you?
Remember, the A.M.T. Study is not a measurement of intelligence, but a questionnaire designed to determine the ability of an AI to be able to convincingly appear as a human. It is up to you to decide whether or not the participants are Human or Artificial.

No actual ai in this game, so don't worry about that, just fictional depictions of it. Anyway the game is pretty solid, if not a little confusing on how to get endings + having annoying trek backs through dialogue/questionaires to even get to the meaningful choices that allow you to get the 6 endings, you'll pretty much struggle to get most endings without a guide or something. It's a cute game though, I don't feel disappointed in playing it, but it's also very simplistic, if not kind of a cute game, it's free so play it.
You have been chosen to administer a new kind of AI testing, in which you must determine whether two random respondents are humans or machines. But as the tests wind on...just who or what is being tested here? A phenomenal, cerebral short story on the nature of existence, reason, and what it means to be a person, human or otherwise. Also, if you're confused about what's going on, like I was at first, check the complimentary (read: freeware) Welcome Packet DLC. Its manual spells out the premise - and its bonuses come with nice bonus, in-universe material (what used to be called "feelies" in the age of physical boxes with the games on physical media like floppy disks, CD-ROMs, game cartridges, and cassette tapes), and a free papercraft with assembly instructions!
Amazing game, talented dev
Where do I even start, as someone who traditionally won't leave a review unless I truly enjoy a product, I rushed to post my positive thoughts about qualia , I started the game without any expectations (due to it's short length) and I must say it more than exceeded any thoughts I could have had . Qualia manages to build up an interesting AI based story in it's limited timeframe, it asks questions of consciousness and AI morality while pulling you in, the game has 6 endings but they manage to build off each other into a satisfying conclusion during which you start to ask questions about your own existence, while some of the endings may seem hollow, they reintroduce the same philosophical questions back to you in a way that allows for reabsorption. I truly enjoyed the time I spent with this game and hope this dev gets the opportunity to make another game like it.
Great game, especially for free. Get it if you're looking for something to do while you're waiting for your food to be delivered. This will most likely run on anything. This game, hence my food delivery comment, is very short. But, I can't complain - it is free after all.
i love this game i enjoyed the music from justin oval who made sharks with legs (scatterbrained, and think happy, are the songs in the game) 10/10 100% recommend
This is the most beautiful emotional horror game I've every played I genuinely got spooked then cried at the blue ending def top five oat imo
finished the game within 30 minutes. all endings in order. i was stupid and dumb for thinking those colors were corresponding to a level i have done---getting them in the rainbow order and all... i thought i have only completed one ending. ended up wasting 20 or more minutes without knowing i got them all. oh well, it was peak. Yes, peak. i love ya Alan
it's good if i can say it. uhm its really facsinating game because the ai is really going to affect human life. im seeing this as an pyscological genre game or something similah, its hard to explain because my english knowledge is below average. but you should try this game.
I guess you could call this a text adventure but it's just 2 participants answering 11 questions and you have to decide if their responses are human or artificial, then potentially question the result of your performance and get presented with one of 6 endings and an unskippable reboot sequence. a few minutes per playthrough and there are more than 11 questions for a bit of variety between runs, except questionnaire choices don't seem to matter, so a skip that nonsense option would've been nice. also, if you restart instead of quitting, you won't find out which ending you got. what the ♥♥♥♥ is that about? the only settings are toggles for screen flicker and flashing images, both on by default, of course. plus the lazy suggestion of adjusting your system settings for audio. ♥♥♥♥ off. it also lies about only containing 'some ambient audio features', as there's terrible music during the credits and I wouldn't consider the lame jumpscare they tried to pull ambience either. any developer releasing a game with audio but without audio settings can't be taken seriously. embedded videos with awful voiceovers have a volume slider at least. the game runs in a resizable window and can't be made full screen, alt+enter doesn't work either. and even if they wanted to make (bad) jokes in the system requirements section of the store page that should be informative in the first place, proper specs should be disclosed. the game obviously doesn't work in dos and it's not only an html file, nor is it 10 mb (1.5gb, actually). there's a manual and other fluff in the install folder, part of the free dlc that automatically gets added to your library with the game, so it was pointless to make it separate. just as pointless as the game itself. don't bother.
good presentation for a painfully cliche result, if this wasn't free I guarantee the reviews would be overwhelmingly negative
