My first impression with this game was (and still is) "this game is really similar to the wiiware game ghost mania. It's not identical (the latter has blocks slowly rising to the top and doesn't auto-combo after four touching blocks but with light-colored blocks), but still remarkable close. And as such, I can't help comparing the two. For one: the interface and input of puzzle station are clunky and buggy (I managed to crash the game when wanting to look at input options, and a second time when windows (10) interrupted the game with an update warning). You hardly need buttons (left, right, drop, switch), but still: the ability to rebind switch from 'control' would've been nice. Ingame, you've got a handheld controller that's taking up half the screen. Not that what remains is hard to see, but why not just enlarge the playing field? ...and that's about it for the negative parts. The positive ones are, well...positive. Even though ghost mania scores better on my complaints of the last paragraph, they're pretty close where it actually matters: the actual gameplay. The game is responsive, quick, easy to learn and requires some skill to master (at least the puzzles...the arcade seems sort of self-evident for what I've played thus far). Its quality is well within what's to be expected for the price range, and the idea of breaking blocks by combo-ing around it is pretty neat. There are better falling block puzzles, yes (tetris attack/puzzle league comes to mind), but it's fairly unique (note: ghost mania is on a pretty obsolete platform around this time (january 2018)). It won't win game of the year, but all in all: there's fun to be had. And that's what games like these are about. :-)
A piece of Finnish game history from the 2000's. Originally sold through an ice cream truck. Interesting enough gameplay loop and fun VFX considering the times. Hard to say if it's worth 4€ or not, but it's a time capsule nonetheless.
Terribly boring puzzle game
This is quite a bipolar game. On one hand the Arcade mode is all about high-octane-act-before-thinking action that dishes out heart attacks with inpunity. On the other hand the puzzle mode is chill af
Makes me miss my childhood, this was one of my favorite games. I still love the music :D
Pros contains lots of fun stages. Cons $3.99
Despite the short amount of hours poured into this game (admittedly it can take a few hours to 100% complete everything), it still holds a place of my childhood with PC games. While I have played the demo countless amount of times from RealNetworks' Demo Disc (which contained over 40 demos including Team Fortress Classic strangely enough). This game, along with the PC version of Lego Racers 1 and the other games featured on that disc (Aironix and Dweep to name a few) is what defined the late 90s to me. I was too young back then to have my mind blown away from the majority of First Person Shooters back then (eventually Half Life did came to mind when the PS2 version was featured as a demo). But as far as PC gaming went for me, this game was one of my favorites.
Um jogo de puzzle divertido. Mas com um visual bem antigo. A interface bem complicada e a mecânica do teclado meio estranha. Recomendo para quem é fã de jogos mobile. Mas no PC tem muitos outros de Puzzle bem melhores e mais desafiadores.
