As a 2D minigolf lover, this game was fun for a while. The idea of getting points by bouncing off the outer walls of a level is a fun mechanic that gives levels a lot of replayability as I try to get to the top of the leaderboard in each level by using 2 shots. However, it seems the best strategy is often the same: just zig-zag as much as possible and then attempt to hit the center of the circle. Hitting walls actually increases the speed of the ball a tiny bit so you also get more distance by zig-zagging (which gives more points). Walls are a buggy mess that sometimes send you to a random direction which becomes very irritating in levels with tight corridors. The level design is also quite uninteresting and it just feels like the designer slapped some shapes in and called it a level. So in each level getting high score just requires you to zig-zag a ton and maybe get a lucky buggy bounce off a wall. Not fun.
Pull Ball is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab. Pull Ball is likely to be/has all the hallmarks of a "template flip", that is to say, it's a "game" that has been produced by copying a game template or using a game construction kit, and changing a few things. In this case it appears to be a template for doing a simple mobile phone app "minigolf" game where you put your finger on the phone screen to emulate shooting a pool ball with a cue. This is deplorably low quality bundle trash. Copying a template/using a game construction kit requires no talent, and unsurprisingly produces products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. It's almost as bad as an outright asset flip. Whether this is or is not an asset flip, it has all the qualities of one. Minimalist "art" shows no effort was made in graphic design or visuals. Gameplay is identical to a number of Unity store assets, no surprise considering it's a free mobile app, yet the developer is trying to charge PC gamers money for this, and has sold the keys off in bulk to shovelware bundle merchants. There's little to no merit here as a PC game. Once more we see greedy mobile devs trying to scam PC gamers. They want $1 USD for this free mobile app! Mobile devs must learn PC gamers are not here to be gouged, and can't be expected to pay a premium for a free mobile app just because it's been lazily dumped on Steam. This is unacceptable disrespect for PC gamers. I didn't spend thousands on a gaming PC so I could pretend it's an iPhone. This is nothing but a lazy, greedy cash grab and should be avoided.
Developer Response!
The developer has weighed in to inform everyone they didn't read the Developer Usage Rules for Steam "partners", or they deliberately ignored the part where Valve says:
Though it may be tempting, not every review needs to be responded to. A developer response will frequently draw more attention than the original statement, potentially turning a small issue into a much larger community discussion. It's also not a good idea to use this feature to refute customer opinions. Your direct attention can be seen as validation or a defensive attempt to silence your customers.
In this case the developer seems insistent this isn't an asset flip, although I've played several asset flips using the exact same Unity mechanic the developer is using. It's entirely possible the developer saw that template and instead of copying it, reverse engineered it to come up with a game that is exactly like a Unity asset flip, but isn't. Giving the developer the benefit of the doubt, I've amended my review to simply advise that it is possibly an asset flip. It's important that gamers get as much information as reasonably possible when evaluating a product on Steam. I'd like to thank the developer for responding in this case because there was other aspects of this "game" that I had missed in my original review. This is without doubt a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as a cash grab, which is reprehensible behaviour. I had given the developer the benefit of the doubt in that case, but I was able to locate the app store page for the product to verify the price and confirm it's a mobile app. To make matters worse, it's a free mobile app, but the developer is insulting PC gamers by charging money for this. I've also amended my review to reflect this, because PC gamers must always be made aware when mobile devs dump their mobile peasant shovelware onto Steam. PC gamers deserve better than mobile apps, and PC gamers aren't here to be gouged or treated like the second class citizens that mobile devs think we are.
minimalistic and relaxing minigolf-esque game 6/10

Nice "Mini-Golf" clone, with 2 balls / stage. Easy achievements, 100% / ~60min.
ゲーム内容はPVどうりボールを打って緑の丸の中に入れるだけ。 面白いがPCでやるものではない
Oyunumuz bir topu belli bir hedefin ortasında durdurarak, engelleri aşarak, yüksek bir puan almayı hedefleyen bir oyun. Zor değil. Birkaç bölümde zorlanabilirsiniz onu da süper bileklerinizle geçebilirsiniz. Eleştirilecek bir yanı yok, sıkıldığınızda oynayabileceğini ufak bir oyun. Fiyatı da gayet uygun. İyi Oyunlar!
good ♥♥♥♥ only for achievements
Nice and simple game to play once in a while while maybe doing something else or listening to music etc. Won't use much resources, can nicely keep it running on the background. I like the windowed-mode which doesn't take the whole screen, which in my opinion is not required for a game like this. A fresh way to play a kind-of-a-golf-like-game. You can implement strategies on how to create the best score since the score is accumulated through gaining distance and wall bounces. With single shots you get 2x multiplier as well as with when you score the ball inside the inner hole. Because of this and the leaderboard, this has a nice competitive aspect to it. However the game (elements, tracks) is quite simple which hinders the ability to really push the gameplay higher, the competitive aspect of it and invent more advanced strategies. There's not that much variety regarding elements or in the tracks themselves. For example special elements like water, sand etc or something else could be pretty cool. Every track is played in 2 shots (or hole-in-ones) so they are short. 90 tracks in total + survival mode which generates tracks automatically. Sometimes there's this one bug which annoys me: the ball can bounce from a straight wall in a way that it's not meant to, to a different direction that it is supposed to go. The survival mode could get harder faster imo, I played 18 tracks to it and the tracks had max 2 obstacles to surpass to get the goal. Overall I would recomment this game to anyone really; not only is it cheap but there really is potential to it. I do like it, even while hoping it would have more to it.
