One of few games that seem to get worse and worse with every patch. Patches for which there arent always release notes for either. Just fire up the game, alright today skills are awarded on random rather than by choosing, ok then. Suddenly twice the movespeed and totally different air control, ok then. It's become harder and harder to find human players to play with as well. And now you have to pick either bot games or human games, there is no fallback to bots after waiting endlessly for human opponents. I thought the game had potential but the past few weeks have helped me decide I won't return to it any more.
If you are good in this game it will show. I went against geared people and still got a ton of kills and wins over them. I don't know why other people are complaining about pay to win. Make sure to go for shields and life more if you aren't that good or grab some good weapons, especially if you are on the last of your ammo. I love this game and its upgrade system. I've only played for about a half hour at the time of this review and I already unlocked 3 chests and 1 new costume. I highly recommend everyone try this out. Sometimes you have bad rounds too. The shotgun up close can kill someone instantly, so don't rage quit and uninstall if you happened to get stomped out a round or two. In matchmaking, I don't think I ever played the same person twice and I love the different game modes. The replayability on this game is off the charts - 10/10

Project Zero Deaths has a lot of potential to improve and become a great game, but in its current state it is quite boring and unfair for many players. To start off, the ranked system is pretty terrible; you are put in a game with 2-7 other players (or bots!). The ratings between the players in the lobby are pretty random, but can be excused with a low playerbase. When the game ends, you will always win or lose 0/2/10/18/20 elo points for a game, making it a rating system with limited rating. The rating traded between the players is decided on the average team rating, and does not take into account your own individual rating in the slightest. A 1300 player could lose 18 elo because he was put in a team with a 2900 player, even though his two opponents are 700 rating above him. Higher ranked players have no chance of ranking up in the current state of the game by playing solo. In order to gain anything more than 0 or 2, you have to actively look for players way lower than you so you can drag down the average rating of the game. The AI of the bots in this game are not the best; and there are a lot of bots. Playing a ranked Team Deathmatch and getting a team full of bots is almost certainly a loss for you as they are very easy to farm kills off of. Also gamemodes like Harvest are treated as a Team Deathmatch in their eyes, and have no fear of running into the enemy with all the rings on them. Of course bots will gradually be seen less and less as this game grows, but in its current state I'd like to see some sort of revamp for the bots, where they at the very least behave somewhat different depending on the gamemode they're playing. Speaking of gamemodes, Payload doesn't feel like it belongs in this game at all. It is a slow-paced gamemode where you are supposed to contest a moving area until you score. It creates a lot of downtime with the 10 second respawn timer, and a lot of downtime sitting on the payload waiting for the enemies to arrive. Lowering the respawn timer, making the maps smaller or only having larger lobbies on payload would make the flow of the gamemode feel much better. There are of course good things to be said about the game too. There are a wide selection of characters to be selected, all with different mechanics, abilities and stats. There is also a wide variety of weapons to be used, some weapons found exclusively on some maps. The developers of the game are also very active on their own Discord where they frequently speak with the community regarding the game, taking notes on feedback and letting us know what they're working on. This is the main reason I believe this game can become much better; the people working on it are very community-driven and are always listening to feedback. Balance changes are being pushed frequently together with updates including new content. All in all, I really wish I could recommend this game but in its current state I just cannot. I am looking forward to seeing what the future of this game brings and hopefully I can change this review to a more positive one.
Great Proof of concept but it gets boring after about 5 minutes in because the entirety of the player base is bots. Basically just 2D Quake but worse than Quake. shame that its just a mobile game port because its full of microtransactions and painful grinding. Honestly if you want a 2D Online shooter there's not many options so hopefully the developers pull their fingers out their asses and fix the pretty solid foundations they have here. Could really blossom. Cant recommend it in its current state unfortunately.
The game was great while it lasted, but now I can't connect to the servers. Has this game bee discontinued??
"Project Zero Deaths" is an abandoned Early Access P2W 2D retro platformer/shooter with no players, because it's P2W cancer. The developers abandoned this 5 years and 6 months ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. Despite not being able to finish the game, the developers apparently had all the time in the world to build a working cash shop microtransaction system and financial transaction back end into the game. That shows the developers primary goal was just to set out to gouge cash from Steam gamers just like mobile devs do with mobile peasants. On the topic of visuals, the weak looking 2D retro assets seem like they'd be more at home in a browser game or a mobile app. 3D graphics accelerators hit the mainstream of PC gaming in the mid 1990's with cards like the ATI Rage and Voodoo3D, there's no excuse for such poor 2D graphics in 2024. That alone is enough to disqualify this for recommendation. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. On pricing and value for gamers, this isn't really free as the game is infested with mobile app store like P2W microtransactions. This is a consumer hostile model that we don't need to see on PC. It's deceptively priced to gouge gamers, and that's a reason in itself to avoid this. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
um jogo tão bom que teve que ser nerfado pelos desenvolvedores... R.I.P sentirei saudade...
