I like it but it definitely needs much more polish. The controls are a little confusing but with time you could learn them. I kept getting log errors and later I crashed when I walked into a wall.
"Project Rogue" is an abandoned Early Access attempt to make a ripoff of games like Eye of the Beholder and Legend of Grimrock but with a shallower, dumbed down RPG system and no content, because the developer thought that endless samey procgen algorithms are an acceptable solution for doing the difficult job of a real developer and creating meaningful content. This features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and it's clear the developers behind this don't understand that. The assets look a bit like they're flipped store assets, another problem. The developers abandoned this over a year ago, it will never be completed. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.

Concurrent players on Steam, sampled daily since tracking started.
A decent foundation, but the lack of options (which result in audio being impossibly low to hear) definitely wasn't all that great. I love me some roguelikes and DRPGs, though, and I'm curious to see where this one goes.
