Serious review time: there's plenty to like about this game. The story it creates is really fascinating, and the lore bits sent through emails are really cool. I love the environments, and the creatures that live within them. The UI is fantastic, and really lends itself to the game's aesthetic. But the thing this game does best is atmosphere. The deeper I dived into the depths, the more I felt a sense of dread. That is incredibly impressive. However, this game isn't without it's share of problems. The sound is incredibly inconsistent, with long periods of silence that are broken up by bits of audio. The movement controls feel incredibly floaty, as if I couldn't get a grasp on the machine I was using. There was very little indicator of how far I was progressing, until the very end. Speaking of which, it felt like I bugged into the game's ending. In conclusion, I did enjoy the game, and am very proud of the team behind it. However, it does have it's fair share of problems. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to future updates. Current rating: 7/10
Solid little project, albeit a little confusing at times. Reminds me of games like Aquanox and Turgor Pressure.
Before I played Project Nautilus, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
Idk something sketchy about the ending it crashed my game and computer. After uninstalling I had no issues idk if it's suppose to be like that or if it's just broken but don't recommend in that manner
This is by far the greatest price of interactive media ever produced by mankind
You've been hired by ZUCC to do a drone survey of an underwater cave system, what will you find below?...Just a bunch of fish and rock, I bet! ;} Your drone is a bit floaty, but you get used to it. It comes with a drill for breaking rocks, and a harpoon for anchoring/pulling...but the most important tools are the beacons, which you need to place every so often to keep your signal strong...too weak a signal and you'll lose your drone. As for difficulty, you mostly just explore, but there were a few obstacles to deal with, such as the angler fish...I couldn't figure out if they were attracted to light or proximity, but once I realized they could be lured away by chopping up smaller fish with the drill, they were easy to avoid. As for the..."obstacle" over the long descending shaft...I couldn't figure out a way to effectively deal with it, so I just pulled it away and sped past it....it took a few tries, but it worked. The game has a surprising amount of backstory and lore, told mostly thru emails, so don't skip those! Now,there were a couple of issues: 1: Your A.I. "Passion" doesn't always do her lines right, sometimes cutting off/repeating, or just not activating. 2: At one point near the end, right after getting the final email, the game froze up...and there doesn't seem to be a save system, so I had to play thru the whole thing again to actually read that email and get the ending....it didn't take as long the second time tho. I'm trying not to get too spoiler-y, but I got more than I expected out of this. There may be more that I didn't discover, for instance, there's a "Reply" option to the emails that I didn't experiment with... I also played thru another time with my name set to "cross" so my email would match the boss's, thinking it may give a different ending...it didn't, but that doesn't mean nothing will. Small bugs aside, this was fantastic! The imposing atmosphere of the depths and it's discoveries was wonderfully done, the lore was engrossing, and delivered well...and that ending was *chef's kiss*. Overall, everything about this was great! ...It even surprised me! The game's not long, and the payout was huge. This is definitely one to look at!
Corporate drone operator wage slave simulator.
