Project Myriad is a tower defense strategy game. You build towers on a map of hexagons that will attack and defeat oncoming waves of enemies. Towers can be upgrade and some have varied upgrade paths. The goal is clear as many waves as possible. How far can you get?
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. Copies below reflect the player base, not paid sales.

Simple tower defense strategy game.
This is an interesting design for a tower defense game. There are some huge issues with it currently. After choosing your 7 towers to use, if you dont memorize what each towert does, you have no way of telling in game really. There is no tooltip, and other than the design of the tower itself giving a clue, it doesnt offer all that much help. You cannot remove towers after placing them, so if you put down a tower in a bad spot, tough ♥♥♥♥. I would stay away from this game unless the devs decide to put some effort into this game and give it some basic quality of life updates that should come with any tower defense game. Once this game has all the QoL updates that put it on par with the basic expectations of players for a Tower Defense game, then I would rate this game in the bottom 15% or so of TD games. It needs a lot of work to be worth more than the free games available all over the place.

(This review is now redundant following the release of version 1.1 which involved massive changes - will try to update once I have played the new version a bit more.) Nearly 100 hours and still going strong!! In my opinion. one of the best Tower Defense games out there - and I generally try them all. I suspect that if the grahics were a bit more "flashy" this game would get a lot more attention. Despite seeing an initial negative review, decided to give it a go and I am having terrific fun. Had no problems with any of the perceived issues raised in that review - notwithstanding, they seem to have now been accomodated anyhow. Plenty of tactical options. I particularly like that the game lets you select 7 towers from a bigger mix. There is a second option where the game does the selecting for you, and makes you come to grips with varied setups that you might not normally consider - and sometimes with "educating" results. The mazing options are very interesting when cosidered in conjunction with the tower "abilities". Before the first patch levels were too long, but the recent upgrade has seen "substantial" changes (for the better) and level length seems just about right. The game is continally being fine tuned and the developer has shown himself very responsive to feedback. (P.S. Good to see a game with such low hard disk requirements.)
Love the art. Love the tower types. Love the maps. Love the endless waves. Hate the dorky arcade music, but then the game does look kinda arcade-ish.
"Project Myriad" is a failed attempt at making a tower defense game, the only differentiating factors being a hex map instead of the usual free-form/fixed points or square grid. And that it has worse graphics than just about every other TD game ever made (wonder why it failed?). It's very easy to make a tower defense game... there's dozens of tutorials online, even asset packs and templates that make it trivial. It's extremely difficult to make one that's enjoyable, has the right balance between placement strategy, upgrades, enemy waves, routes, map design... and that shows here quite clearly. This game features very lacklustre minimalist "art" for graphics instead of anything remotely contemporary. I'm sure the "developer" thought this would come across as "artistic", but it doesn't, it comes across as "really lazy". Yes, contemporary 3D graphics take a lot of time and effort to create. That doesn't mean it's okay not to bother! Developers must try to understand that gaming is a visual medium, and gamers spend a lot of money on high end gaming rigs for a reason. And that reason is not so they can look at lazy, phoned-in half efforts like this. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $5 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
Project Myriad is a tower defence with a few differences. It has three modes... 1/Standard- Firstly you select the map you want to play then you go to the tower select page where you select seven towers out of the twenty available to try and beat the map with. Technically it will play as long as you can hold out but it is considered won when you get to level 30. In this mode you can't sell towers. 2/Random- The game will randomly select the towers for you. 3/Traditional- In this mode you are allowed to use all 20 towers and can sell the towers. It is quite a well made game with very nice retro graphics and a catchy chip tunes soundtrack to get your feet tapping. I really enjoyed it and played the video in Standard mode until I finally managed to get to level 30 on the first map. I am dubious about being able to do it on some of the harder maps but there are the other modes to try. They have done a great job on this title and the $5 price tag is very reasonable, so have a look at the video and see what you think.... https://youtu.be/tFoLlNbIpiw Thanks for watching, please like, subscribe and comment.

.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. CONCLUSION .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
