I like this game. It features a loot system, solid gunplay, and interesting environments/atmosphere among other things. The main thing it is missin' is voice overs. The chamber aspect is nice. Gameplay Impressions: https://youtu.be/1VfvrCZPwMo
Project;Hypatios is an indie first person shooter with roguelite gameplay taking place in a dystopian sci-fi setting. You play as a test subject in some kind of lab filled with traps and robots designed to kill you (sound familiar?). The inspiration from Portal is pretty evident and the game doesn't shy away from admitting it.
The Good
+ Variety of weapons. I don't play a lot of FPS games so I can't say if they are balanced, but I had no issues with using most weapons in this game. The gunplay is quite enjoyable. + Great atmosphere. The game's environments are very well made for a solo dev to design singlehandedly and varies in every chamber. You get a Skyrim-like dungeon in one chamber, a nightclub level in another, and... a sushi restaurant level? + High replayability especially if you like roguelite games. Even though you start from the beginning after every death, the game has the option to let you skip certain sections of the level using in-game currency so you can progress faster. + Interesting plot. Without spoiling the game, it kinda gives you Steins;Gate and Serial Experiment Lain vibes. + Banger EDM and ambient soundtrack
The Ehh
- There's quite a lot of spelling and grammatical issues in the game's dialogue, it makes reading it pretty awkward. - Not a huge fan of the game's platforming sections. - Some level design could be improved. Overall, it's a pretty great indie game. There might be a few issues but it has a lot of interesting idea behind it and is an enjoyable experience.
Dieing makes your UI busted till the next level unable to even pull up the menu The tilt when getting hit is painful to the eyes and disorientating lol. It is so exaggerated. Getting ammo is actually a PAIN a lot of the times and achievements right now are busted. OH and progression in enemies is drastic. level 4 just craps out a lot of strong foes Map can be a tad confusing too in all honesty THO love the guns, upgrades, SFX and style. The music kinda reminds me of a ps4 multiplayer game called blacklight retribution.
