Sank a goal from the opposition's goal sqaure and I think the ball's still flying somewhere over Victor Harbour. Still lost the match. 10/10

Great game but needs some patches; randomise teams and power-ups in season mode, and the bug where the game keeps playing in the background after the final siren is very irritating. 100%!
I'm a huge footy fan but there are just too many things wrong with this game to recommend it. I understand it's supposed to be janky, but there's almost a great game behind it all. Talking about Season mode first, you have to go some team called the Sharks. Which aren't in any other mode it seems. A bit strange to do. Secondly, the order you play teams is fixed. You always play the Lifters in the 2nd game and your players are absolutely TINY in that game. It makes the game almost impossible to play. Trying to tackle while you're THAT small is just not fun. Being smaller would be a detriment sure, but being microscopic to the point where sometimes you can't even see your own players? Actually the worst thing I've seen in a game. Another thing is why are we even having fixed teams if the players are always random? There are some hilarious names but why do I care about them if they'll be on my team one game and then on someone elses the next? The point of sport is picking a team, learning the players and then cheering for both of those aspects. If Hot Chicken is on my team, I love the name and want to cheer for them and my team yet next time I play some other random team I'm playing against Hot Chicken. It just ruins the experience for me. Then lastly, what is the actual point of the hitouts? You're just supposed to mash the game pad and it's supposed to just be random, but I've won the hitout twice in 10 games. 2 times in 10 whole games. It just makes no sense. It's dumb. Maybe against another player it's fairly random but against the AI you just never win. It makes it utterly pointless. I get the game is supposed to be janky. It really does add to it all and it works for the most part, but these glaringly bad issues I've brought up, I just dunno how that got past testing. I really don't.
I haven't played this a whole lot yet so I don't know how deep it is but my word it is fun. The whole style of it is so easy to get lost in, the visuals, the commentary, the sound and humor are just Australiana. I cannot wait to play this with some friends because I think that is where things will get real fun.
"Chaotic Aussie fun, even if a few power-ups get annoying." I've had a really good time with Pro Jank Footy. It doesn't take itself seriously at all, and it's genuinely made me laugh out loud quite a few times while playing. Huge credit to the developer for taking a crack at this—making an arcade footy game with this much weird Aussie humor is a super unique idea, and for the most part, it lands really well. The only real downside is that a couple of the power-ups lean more frustrating than fun when they pop up mid-match. But overall, the charm and originality outweigh the minor annoyances. Definitely worth picking up if you want something funny, lightweight, and completely different.
With or without the endless game modifiers from Jank mode, this is a very fun full-on arcade representation of Aussie Rules Football. I like the controls, the flow of the game, the core gameplay (except AI, see below). But I can see why for some it needs work to properly justify the full price tag. I hope we see more improvement on the AI, my teammates run away from too many loose balls. Once addressed then add ability to change difficulty. Also a better (more real life) season/tournament mode would be nice... the mortal kombat type ladder is ok, but doesn't do it for me in this type of game.
I lost a game because I was on the floor laughing - Broden's commentary really enhances the absolutely cracked modifiers.
