About

AUSTRALIAN RULES FOOTBALL LIKE YOU'VE NEVER SEEN IT!
Pro Jank Footy is a fast-paced and over-the-top arcade sports game where you’re constantly redefining the rules of Aussie Rules Footy!
Simply score a goal - your opponent picks a game-changing power-up!
Power ups either hinder your opponents, make your team better, or change the rules of the game!
Double the amount of players on your team, remove the umpires, play as a seagull, put goal posts all around the oval, or even turn the gameplay completely on its head by transforming everyone into footballs – the choice is yours!
Play against your mates in local multiplayer and online, or conquer the single-player season mode!
Don't even know what Aussie Rules is? Even better!
WORLD-CLASS COMEDY
With commentating from Aunty Donna's Broden Kelly and the creative minds of David Ashby and Dario Russo behind cult TV series Danger 5 and Italian Spiderman driving the humor, Pro Jank Footy is jam-packed with comedy, charm and celebrates our oddball Australian footy culture.
FEATURES

SEASON MODE – Lead your team through a full season with deck-building mechanics, gaining new janky powers as you defeat each team!
RETRO ARCADE NOSTALGIA – Inspired by classic 90s sports games, blending pixel-perfect action with buttery-smooth modern gameplay.

Okay, I'm gonna say yes. It is pure enjoyable chaos BUT Add a season mode where you can save progression, build teams and go absolutely full Jank. Please allow me to see wtf the actual cards pulled are instead of having to guess at the icons. Basically, just add more customization, this is hilariously fun and can either be completely OP or absolutely unfair, definitely lives up to the hype. I'd like a season mode where I choose my team/players, and progress and compete against the others for more than just the 8 matches

Realistic representation of actual professional umpires' understanding of holding the ball. 10/10.
Whilst there are more positives than negatives, I do find myself concurring with some of the negative reviews regarding the player ai, control mapping, quality of life improvements, improved online (although being fair i guess it would be difficult dealing with epic/console corporations). I hope the developers take into consideration the earnest criticisms and within a few patches we get the footy love letter we all dreamed.
All of PJF's chaos would be worth bugger all if it didn't have a genuinely gratifying base of footy underpinning everything, but this "simple arcade throwback" somehow manages to capture the fluidity of the modern game exceptionally well. It also gives you the ability to slow things down and be pin-point when making your way towards goal if you'd rather: stab passes feel exceptionally good to nail; leaping to take a mark is really, really well done (I don't recall that being in the demo and it was probably a right bugger to iron out, but it feels great); and completely poleaxing opponents to gain possession feels weighty without slowing the game down. Masterful stuff. On top of that foundation you have the random effect cards and it's legit wonderful to watch a match descend into absolute pandemonium until the fourth quarter is nothing but shopping trolleys chasing down beachballs that have been punted out of reach by doggos who have invaded the pitch, one team attempting to avoid getting swooped by gulls, the other team simply racking up points for picking up soft drink cans and chip packets scattered around the oval. And all of this is tied together by Broden Kelly's machinegun commentary, charming Wario Ware-style post-goal cutscenes, and absolutely dead-on team songs. Every little piece adds to the mayhem of the modifiers until you're 100% confused and vaguely worried for your own wellbeing (kinda like being at an actual match sat alongside a toothless Collingwood supporter). It's not without its flaws, though: single player mode is exceptionally bare bones (consisting of a single season that requires good RNG in order to have Buckley's of winning), and multiplayer outside of Gabesoft's Remote Play Together at present requires you to manually make an account for Uncle Timmy's servers (yeah nah get stuffed). There are also a bunch of quality of life things it could definitely stand to add, like choosing what cards to add or leave out for a match; and the ability to see what cards are in play mid-match/mid-season would be mint. Maybe we could get a little Balatro-styled compendium to show you what you've unlocked, too? Devs have already shown that they're willing to listen to the community, so hopefully those things get sorted out alongside the wonky automatic player switching issues. Until then, as long as you have mates to play local matches with, this is the perfect way to piss away your arvo. CARN THE GALAHS!
This game is fun and goofy. But what happened to the friend code to link up with a friend. I bought this mainly to play with some buddies. They had the friend code option when I first purchased it but it was gone by the time I was going to play with my friend. Add it back please!
