It is hard to get used to at first, feels impossible to get the ball to go where you want. It definitely needs some updates to smooth out a lot of its problems and weird functions. But, if you are a fan of football, you will enjoy it. Very adrenaline pumping. I am a Vikings fan and getting to hear the Skol chant during a 2 minute drill to score a game winning TD was amazing.
Game does not give you the option to go on 4th down...always punts or fields goals for you
This game is not complete yet. The AI is still too buggy. Your offensive line is useless, the right and left tackle dont even block, so the defensive ends are immediately in your face. You cant even exploit the gaps in the line, instead you are running into an invisible barrier that prevents you from moving. Your wide receivers become useless once they complete their routes, they wont even catch the ball even it hits them square in the chest. Buy this game when the bugs are fixed. This game can be much more fun but at the moment its frustrating.
Very good game finally got to see Cleveland win a super bowl (I am delusional and need therapy)
I’ll come back and edit when I have more time in, but first impressions. This is incredible. I’m 32 now but this is taking me back man. I can finally live out my NFL QB dream. Disabling assists and turning the difficulty all the way up yields pretty realistic results. Line play is quick (as it is in real life) and the ball tracking seems pretty 1:1 so far. Excited to dive deeper but wow, what a first impression.
I wouldn't recommend this game for it's $30 price tag. Wait for a sale. A good one. This game is a lot of fun and has a lot of things right but a lot of things wrong. The biggest thing is we need is a multiplayer exhibition mode where we can face our friends head to head like franchise mode. 2nd I'd say allow your player to run out on the field before each game like you do when you run the game for the first time. It adds the realism. other than that the passing mechanics are great, the running can be improved a bit but other than that, amazing setup and amazing potential! Just needs some updating! Like glitches where linemen don't line up when you break the huddle or line up correctly in the huddle even. During a kickoff the ball can be behind the kicker and he goes to kick at nothing and the ball comes flying from behind him. Minor graphics update to the crowd would be awesome as well! Each stadium looks amazing! Options added to player creation so we can change the color of our skin and update teammates skin colors to actually match their actual skin color. Not everyone is black lol. Once I see these changes this review goes straight to Recommend!
Graphically a step up from the Quest version which does add to the immersion. I like the game, but I love the potential, if they add to it the right way. Would love to have further control: (ability to control the running back after the handoff), (possibly a close up view when the wide receiver goes to catch the ball instead of always looking from afar off),(the ability to create a few custom audibles to use instead of those in your playsheet on your wrist), (the ability to go for it on 4th down and 2 point conversions).
There is alot of bugs at this current point and you can only play QB. Auto sim doesn't sim through special teams, making the game feel very slow. Still fun
This has the ability to be a incredibly good game but it is held back by a few main issues 1. game breaking bugs: there are quite a few bugs in this game that completely destroy any sense of gameplay, if you call a hurryup, sometimes your players will just stop were they were at the end of the last play, and set for the next play, completely randomly spread across the field (think wide receivers lining up 10 yards away from the LOS and and OL being a jumbled mess) This is only 1 bug out of many, I can think of 6 off the top of my head 2. Lack of updates: The only place I was able to find any information about the future of this game was in a SBJ article (I'll touch on this later) saying that the team would like to make this a yearly release like madden. Considering the fact that 6 months in there are still game breaking bugs and as far as I've seen close to 0 new features implemented, I highly doubt this game is getting any updates. If this were an early access game, this would be one of the best ones on the VR market right now, there is so much potential for improvement on a very good base game, but as is it is not ready. Even if there was no new content added, just bug fixes and quality of life updates it would go a long way. 3. Lack of communication Remember when I said I saw the devs plans for the future of the game in an article? That is the ONLY information I've seen online related to the game from the devs that wasn't just promotion. I haven't found a single dev blog, changelist, dev update, or even a dev comment. The companies twitter is just promotion and no real information on the actual game. The fact that the game is in as buggy of a state as it is right now and there has been ZERO communication from the devs, is a big red flag. Let me make this clear: this game is EARLY ACCESS level of quality, even if it isn't marked as early access. This is on the level of an alpha, with game breaking bugs appearing multiple times every single time I play, despite all that it is still fun. If the devs realized this and treated the game like an early access game, it would be incredible. But from the looks of it this seems to be a brand new dev team, so I doubt we will see anything change. If the devs start updating the game and fix the bugs, I will instantly change my review to a positive, until then, stay away for now.
NFL Pro era is NOT the Madden of VR. However, a decently immersive experience that puts you in the heat of the action as the quarterback of your favorite team. Not being able to run the ball besides practice mode is also weak. Lastly I was hugely not a fan of the lack of option for smooth locomotion. You can only move by swinging your arms. I live stream on a VR treadmill and because they forced this method of running, it cannot be played on VR treadmills. Its a great title to catch on a major discount. But Pro era 2 is much better in every single way.
