Picture this: evolved undead creatures have inherited the earth and you gotta poop. There’s no plumbing in the apocalypse, so what do you do? You can’t do it in your shelter because that would smell. You can’t do it outside, you’ll be at risk of a surprise visit by a bloodthirsty hound from hell. Luckily, this world comes with clues on where you can! You just gotta get through all the clues fast enough before you have an accident. 👀 When you start the run you are greeted with three difficulty options: Easy, Medium, and Hard. I hear that more challenging difficulties and game modes are coming as well. Easy is meant for learning the map. You get more time before your gut pressure becomes too much and you fail the run. Plus you won’t see any evolved creatures in Easy mode, only standard easy-to-kill zombies. Medium is when you start seeing different creatures with various attacks. Your gut pressure meter will also fill at a higher rate. Hard is when things get fun. There are a ton more creatures that spawn in AND even more different types of creatures. You will also have a significantly shorter time to complete the run and your gut pressure meter will fill much faster. I would recommend learning the map before taking on this difficulty. THE GOOD Map design is great. It’s not a huge map, but it is sufficient for the purpose of the game. No interior is the same and there are little dad jokes spread throughout that you’ll see. Combat is pretty satisfying. There’s nothing quite like getting headshot after headshot on a horde of undead. You start the game with a pistol and you can get by with that pretty much the entire time. I will say that if you play on the hard difficulty, having the shotgun saved my life multiple times. The shotgun is very very satisfying. The audio is great. You will be very grateful when you hear an approaching creature. There’s an unsettling hum that plays that kinda keeps you on the edge of your seat. THE BAD The inventory system is not great. It’s not very intuitive, especially when you need to be quick. That’s all I’ll say about that one. The game is definitely a resource hog, it’s not terribly optimized yet and there might be a couple bugs you’ll experience during every run. Make sure you report any bugs to the developer, he is very active and helpful! All in all, for $8 it’s not a bad way to spend your time. The game itself reminds me of classic arcade shooters. If you like the way that sounds, then I would say buy it. It doesn’t hold your hand and you definitely have to spend time exploring, but I think that’s the charm behind it. Most games these days hold your hand through everything. Not this one.
Good thing I got this game on sale because it's not worth the asking price. In fact, this game should be free in my opinion because it's that bad. This is an absolutely terrible boring third person zombie shooter that just wreaks indie and low budget. To begin with the game is way too dark and the flashlight only provides a tiny circle of light that doesn't make much of a difference. The game also starts Steam-VR, the graphics are very plain and outdated, swinging melee weapons is painfully slow, you are attacked by zombies when opening your inventory, and you cannot remap the movement controls. There is also no true single player campaign nor any objectives. You just run around shooting zombies. That's it. There is also no manual save. So when you are killed, you start all over. Overall, I found this game to be an awful experience and I therefore cannot recommend it.
