About
Very challenging, run‑based precision brick‑breaker. If you’re looking for casual, this isn’t it.
Play solo or up to three player local co‑op.
There are no checkpoints, no retries, and no safety nets — just your skill, your ammo, and your ability to manage resources as the levels get harder.
Break bricks to harvest Alchemite, the game's currency. Spend it between levels to buy ammo, extra balls and lives, or trade strategically as prices shift with supply and demand. Every shot matters, every purchase matters, and every mistake ends the run.
If you enjoy fixed levels, tight arcade loops, and resource pressure, then welcome to PowBall Renaissance.

Pure Nostalgie in frischem Gewand. Macht tatsächlich immer noch Spaß!
An enjoyable homage to the original powball!
Ball bricking bashing at its finest! Play this game with your graphics cranked all the way up! On top of a free demo to try it out, how can you lose? Fair warning, dont have anything else planned for the day when you start playing. If you think you are good, try multiball with multiplayer. Easily a party game with controllers and full screen
A Blast from the Past! Think you've played the best Arkanoid game ever? Then you haven't played PowBall Renaissance yet! A remake of the 1996 classic PowBall, following in its footsteps. More PowBall to You!
This game has continued dedication from the developer improving an already solid game. Lots of customisation and game types to play through, MP co-op which has been fun playing through with the ex gf.. For the price it's a steal, if you're into breakout games, then this will satisfy that itch.
I was extremely pleased to find out there was a modern sequel to one of my favorite Arkanoid/Breakout clones, PowBall. What made Powball extremely cool was the emphasis on weaponry and chaos, which is not only awesome on it's own, it helped it avoid some of the genre's annoying pitfalls. You can also freely switch between any weapons you have, so there's less of an emphasis on putting yourself in danger to get the right powerups. Being able to upgrade your paddle, buying weapons and ammo as you progressed through stages was also very cool and unique for the genre. Renaissance is a further improvement in that you can have multiple balls in stock to release as you see fit - as long as you keep at least one in play, you're fine. Although there are still some of those cases where there's a block in a very awkward, difficult to hit spot, this really keeps the game moving forward. Your paddle is also less destructible than in earlier versions of Powball, you can take quite a few direct hits now; but you'll up against some heavy resistance before long, so don't get too comfy. The upgrade in visuals is also greatly appreciated too: as before, there's tons of explosions, fx and things just constantly moving - it's all very, very smooth. It's also just nice to be able to play Powball again without having to dust off an old registered version in DosBox. (You can even play the old version's stages plus some vintage Arkanoid style ones) If I had anything negative to say, it's that the music is a bit drab and downbeat for my liking and sometimes it can almost TOO chaotic once a stage's timer has run down all the way; but that's all part of the challenge I suppose. Challenge is another thing worth mentioning : if you lose all your lives, that's it, no continues, you restart from Stage 1. You can quit and save between stages; but the point is to play through them all in order, just like the arcades (and of course you can purchase extra lives and balls in the shop to help keep you alive as long as possible.) This isn't a deal breaker for me at all personally; but I know it might be for some people.
Another clone of arkanoid, but the one which tries a new approach to the genre rather than copying its sucess. I played the original way back since its original release in 1996 and loved it right away, because it innovated the concept. And this remake is brilliant. Also, it is quite stable since it runs very well on my Toshiba laptop and hasn't crashed not even once. Even though I prefer the original, do not miss the chance to try this version. It is simply something you need to try before dismissing it as another Arkanoid rip-off. The concept is the same, the gameplay, is quite different. Go take a ride with it. One quip I do have is, why three players instead of four? I'm pretty sure it would have been slightly better if four players were at the same time enjoying it. But alas, just a tinny weenie complaint.
I love Powball and played the heck out of the original one on my old Ms-Dos pc, but to be completely honest, I prefer the original than this reboot. I think the in-game store in this remake is not satisfactory. The store on the original one was much more pleasant to the eyes. Many icons, many weapons and upgrades, all easily identifiable. On this remake, there's no icons, the text is confusing and there's way less stuff to buy with the in-game currency. I prefer the original one, sorry. This game is still cool though. The original one is a hot slice of an excellent pizza and this one is a cold slice of an excellent pizza, I'll eat them both.
