PlanetSide 2 is an all-out planetary war, where thousands of players battle as one across enormous continents. Utilize infantry, ground and air vehicles, and teamwork to destroy your enemies in this revolutionary first-person shooter on a massive scale.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.

PlanetSide 1 was THE game of my childhood. Even now, years later, PlanetSide 2 still hits different. Whenever i have absolutely no idea what to play, i just install it and jump right back in. Sometimes i only last a single day, sometimes i sink two or three full weeks into it. The massive battles, the feeling of being part of something huge, the constant chaos, it is still unmatched. Sure, it frustrates the hell out of me when it crashes right in the middle of a big fight or I get disconnected at the worst possible moment. And of course you cannot forget about all the cheaters and hackers that still roam the game. That is the main reason I eventually delete it again. But even with those problems, I cannot deny how much joy both PlanetSide 1 and 2 have given me over the last 20 years. If you like big open-world FPS games with epic scale, this one is still worth your time... at least for a few hours until the frustration hits and you end up deleting it again. Thumbs up from me.
way better than cod or bf, make your choice -- this was always the better (if you need proof look when it launched and let's argue over server survivalability)
