This game is a total time-sucker! I just can't put it down - no matter how hard I try. Every 5 minutes turns into an hour of pure gaming pleasure without me even noticing the passing of time. It truly captures my attention and keeps me captivated for hours on end! (I get you can play levels without hitting checkpoints but I can't bring myself to do it)
An out of this world, non-stop anti-gravity racer game that'll have you gripping the keyboard as adrenaline is pumping through your body! Race across galactic landscapes while dodging dangerous obstacles and collecting powerful upgrades. Put your skills to the test as you run through our unique forward scrolling universe before it's too late...and save the world from destruction! -Love the different abilities paired with the nonstop runner mechanic. It's so thrilling when you shrink through a gap, then jump over an obstacle and phase dash through another obstacle in a combo. -The first couple levels are a bit easy for me but once you reach about level 11 it's hold on to your seat time if you want even a small chance at getting all the checkpoints. -Absolutely in love with the water levels. 3D Platforming at it's finest. -People who have played through the first 15 levels will agree that though it is definitely an indie game it is well worth more than $5. The first few levels are really to get you familiar with the movement but after that it really takes off in a fun way.
If you are into runners like Temple Run, or Subway Surfers, this is one you should grab right now. If you are a casual runner player, this has a difficulty curve for you, but if you really want a challenge, try hardcore mode. What's different about this game, is that you get different tools at your disposal the further you get into the game.
When I first saw the name of the game I wasn't quite sure what to expect from it. I was thinking something completely different, but what it turned out to be was a decent game that takes some understanding and skill to actually be able to get thru. You are a Planet Surfer, a person who roams around different planets in your ship in an attempt to save the world. You dodge tree's, phase thru mountains and rocks, jump over water and lava, and avoid many other obstacles as you speed through each area in an attempt to get to the end of the stage you are on while collecting each checkpoint. If you manage to get each one you collect a coin that allows you to purchase upgrades, new area's, and other things to help you along your journey in the world. The developer did a fine job with the graphics, and the decision to make each map only as big as needed was a great choice in my opinion. It keeps the game size small and the resources needed at a minimum so that the rendering of the graphics that you see is made at a higher level with less work put forth by your computer. The optimization of the game is really decent for an indie developer and although the graphics aren't the greatest you will see in a game, they are a good representation and you can tell exactly what everything is and each piece that is placed has a purpose in the game. I really like the details that the ship has on it, really makes it come to life, and the ability to change the color of the ship is a good addition as well as many people love to customize their items in games even if it isn't the largest selection of choices in the world it is a great step in the right direction. Made a quick 20 minute video on YouTube so you can get an idea of the gameplay and the graphics of the game. Please check it out so you can see what it looks like from a gamers perspective. https://youtu.be/pENUGKaWRJs
An enjoyable game which invokes feelings of 'Temple Run' and other runners; except with stages instead of being endless. With challenging stages requiring quick reflexes and some memory to hit all the targets; it never strays into the realm of feeling unfair and feels quite satisfying to get to that next stage.
I really enjoyed this game. I was actually part of the beta test and got all the way to the last level. It feels like a mix between star fox and temple run with an "enders game ending" twist. Beginning levels are pretty simple (unless you try to get all of the checkpoints). By the time you get to the beach and water worlds, the game drastically heats up. If you have a goal to get all checkpoints, you are going to be pleasantly punished. The music on the different settings match up with the feel very well. I love the twist at the end. It felt kindof like an endersgame kind of ending. Being part of the beta test and also enjoying the real game has been a real treat. I have shared this with my friends at work. I see alot of potential here by improving the UI, more cut-scenes and story. Best of luck to the developer and congrats on release!
This is a fun game with a lot of potential.
This game is great! All of the levels are unique and a complete different challenge. There are multiple ways and strategies to approach the different levels so you have to get creative. There are several levels that took me over ten attempts to complete and that was without hitting all of the checkpoints. You will find yourself playing this game for hours without even realizing to try and get past the turtles and get all of the checkpoints or beat the fire levels.
I waited to write this review until after I had 100% completed all of the content in the game, and I'm glad I decided to take on the challenge of completing everything. It was worth every second. I love this game. It is dripping with creativity and passion that is evident in its creation. The level design is creative and unique, and I found myself often trapped in a "one more try" cycle when facing a difficult level. What I thought would be a couple 10 minute play sessions ended up turning into me syncing in nearly 10 hours into the game in the space of a couple days. Very few other games have done that for me (namely Celeste, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, and Super Mario Galaxy). As I unlocked more abilities and became more skilled, I found myself solving levels in ways completely different than I ever believed possible, and even found some creative shortcuts that somehow gave me a feeling I hadn't felt since playing MarioKart Wii. I am not sure how to describe how that is possible, but it is magical. Seeing as this game is still in beta testing, please support this game and its developer Mount Verita. it is evident that the developer has a keen ability to create unique level design and bring fun and sincere challenges that few other games capture nowadays.
