Amazing game, keeps me busy for hours on end much like PC1... but MAN, the paywall is MASSIVE. The base game leaves you with next to nothing in terms of building equipment and blueprints. The variety of base game rides is okay at best, not much I haven't already seen in the last game. But... lets be real here, what the ♥♥♥♥ are we doing with all of these expansion packs? I feel like I'm missing out on a whole lot just because I don't have all this extra ♥♥♥♥ that should've just been included. As fun as this game can be, the greed ruins it a bit.
Its my fault for not doing any research, I assumed that there would be improvements from the first one and its horrible path system and general construction nightmare. Its still needlessly tedious to try to have any kind of symmetry or add design elements at all without rage quitting and just accepting that its going to look terrible. I don't want to spend 2 hours trying to make a pool not have jagged edged and a bumpy bottom- which I am not convinced is even possible. Its extremely unintuitive and clunky, requiring you to exit out and go back in over and over rather than just selecting what you actually want. You shouldn't have to google complicated work arounds in order that don't work. I do not understand how it is so bad, so many games have this system figured out, and I would have assumed that the new game would address those complaints. Its actually worse in some ways. The game sends alerts but offers no solutions on how to fix those alerts, and searching online you see that its been a problem for years with no answers and no fixes. I would accept these things in early access but for a full released game its unacceptable. I have already sunk 17 hours into giving this a chance, I would not recommend unless you are fine with ripping your hair out from frustration and saying wtf every 10 minutes.
Worst. UI. Ever. They really looked at the existing product and thought: "How can we actively ♥♥♥♥ this up?". Placing anything is extremly painful. Coasterparts will refuse to build because "Autotunnel" is active - at 20m in the air. You waste hours configuring personel. Trying to build a rollercoaster and touch a specific part to update or change it feels like a chore in blender for which you need a tutorial. I'd rather stick to Parkitect...
I don't really understand how you mess up a game THIS badly between the first and second installment, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥...
Look, this game is really fun. I've enjoyed building the parks in the career mode, but Franchise mode needs work. My first park, I start getting a good power grid going and then all of the sudden everything drops to under 40 fps and stutters the second I go into construction mode. I'm on a 5070ti and had a total of 2 roller coasters and a monorail. Barely any trees or scenery yet. Games crashed on me multiple times in franchise mode. I wanted to go with a positive review and I know my playtime is going to go up, but with how the snapping is handled, I can't recommend it if you actually want a functioning park with no restrictions.
the only thing i dislike is that we dont get a tutorial telling us how to play the game
currently the workshop and all online features are not working for Linux users. Seems like moving away from steam workshop was a bad idea. I will remove this negativ review as soon as the problem is fixed but it is over a weeks now
I will remove my negative review once they fix the long-standing obvious bug of people stuck in the pool at the end of the flumes ride.
