Unsaubere Übergänge z.B. an selbsterstellten Gebäuden.
Its my fault for not doing any research, I assumed that there would be improvements from the first one and its horrible path system and general construction nightmare. Its still needlessly tedious to try to have any kind of symmetry or add design elements at all without rage quitting and just accepting that its going to look terrible. I don't want to spend 2 hours trying to make a pool not have jagged edged and a bumpy bottom- which I am not convinced is even possible. Its extremely unintuitive and clunky, requiring you to exit out and go back in over and over rather than just selecting what you actually want. You shouldn't have to google complicated work arounds in order that don't work. I do not understand how it is so bad, so many games have this system figured out, and I would have assumed that the new game would address those complaints. Its actually worse in some ways. The game sends alerts but offers no solutions on how to fix those alerts, and searching online you see that its been a problem for years with no answers and no fixes. I would accept these things in early access but for a full released game its unacceptable. I have already sunk 17 hours into giving this a chance, I would not recommend unless you are fine with ripping your hair out from frustration and saying wtf every 10 minutes.
Buy only on a deep discount. Or just wait for Planet Coaster 3, which will have all the upgrades from their experience working on the Jurassic World series. I've only played two Frontier games, Planet Zoo 1 and Planet Coaster 2. Coming from PZ 1, this is a slightly better experience. I can see they've made some quality of life upgrades. The first two tutorial chapters are actually good. Don't need to play the tutorials after chapter 2, you will mostly be doing the same things past that point. There are problems in some spots of the tutorial though. In one of the early tutorial chapters you will building on a beachfront with pirate ships. It tells you to build a pool on beachfront 2. I was trying to build a pool on any beach I could find and was blocked, the game doesnt tell you that this is a locked piece of land and you must purchase it. It doesnt even tell you where it is to be able to purchase it. I had to search the internet. In a later tutorial you will build across two mountains with a monorail. The game wants you to complete the monorail across the mountain. Trying to build the monorail and place more tracks you get the error "auto tunnel not available" or some such similar message about tunnels. I dont want to tunnel, I want to build the track across the mountain. I had to search the internet again! It turns out, in one the submenus for the monorail settings, auto tunnel is on by default when building new tracks! This is a tutorial for new players! It should not be on by default. No one playtested this I'm quite sure. After I completed the monorail, and powered it, it still wasnt working. Again, I searched the internet. It turns out, its a bug. You have to save the game and reload to get the quest to complete! Please playtest the tutorial before releasing a game! In many of the tutorial maps there are sloped paths, hills, mountains. These should not be there when teaching new players. Often I had issues placing paths because the game keeps giving me the error "intersecting terrain." Building on any kind of slope still is painful. Even the slightest height difference will have you messing around with the terrain modify tools for half an hour just to connect two paths. Better off building on a map with flat land to prevents headaches. It is much easier building paths than PZ 1, but that is an extremely low bar. I like that I dont have to build things from scratch like PZ 1. There are lots of blueprints that let you build premade rides. They are simple to put down and connect paths too. Blueprints are a lifesaver. One problem with shell blueprints, it is hard trying to get custom buildings like shops inside of shells. Building breakdown happens too fast. You place down a generator, 5 mins later you get a notification that the generator urgently needs repair when it is at 73%. Why are you notifying me? I have plenty of mechanics. For some reason mechanics ignore repairing generators and rides on their own. I have to manually repair and refurbish things otherwise they go to 0%. Even when a generator or ride goes to 0%, they still wont go over there and start repairs! Why do I have to babysit mechanics? Why are my mechanics wandering around "looking for work" when things are broken down. This is gamebreaking when you have lots of rides. I do not recommend the game just for this problem alone. It seems like rain and snow last forever. I do like though that I could set daytime as the permanent time. Once you have 3,000-3,500 + guests, just start a new map. Your fans will run on overdrive, and you may have some lag issues.
I don't really understand how you mess up a game THIS badly between the first and second installment, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥...
This is nothing like the first PC1 was, just micro manage hell with all from guests complain about water temperatures. to drawing electricity all over the park. staff. you do everything exept have fun building a nice park. Sorry this one lost my interest very quickly.
the power management grid is incredibly annoying you have to individually connect all your facilities AND pipes for your pools. Worse they do make a brush tool for pathing...but it doesn't function as a simple brush on path design. It could be fun if I could actually play the game.
Here's some major issues I noticed in the first 7 hours of playing that the devs seem to refuse to fix, but would rather put out garbage DLC's instead. 1. Guests don't care about your scenery, the will simply walk/clip right through it. Scenery is only a stat thing and seems like a requirement to even get your guest to ride rides. 2. Building paths is still awful. Tho it's better than PC1, often times when you build a path over another path you'll get strange black polygons that look similar to 'artifacting' next to your paths. It looks awful and likely will require you to build over it to get rid of it. Also, when using the draw tool to expand paths, often times it will delete your original path if you place over it. 3. This game wants you to build piece by piece or use somebody else's blueprints to build the most simple things. Example: You want to place a light post on your path? NOPE! You have to place the post, place the light hanger, place a lantern/light object, use the adjustment tools to get it JUST right, then use the 'Select Multiple' tool to select all of the objects, and save it as a custom blueprint. ONLY THEN you can place multiple lights along a path. If you're not a very detailed oriented person like I am, this game is a nightmare. 4. This game is a very obvious cash grab and it's disgusting. Many of the rides from Planet Coaster 1 were removed from Planet Coaster 2 and resold to us as DLC. When you purchase a DLC, you get 2-5 "new rides" and a bunch of scenery bloat that you'll likely never use. Just look at the DLC reviews if you don't believe me. 5. The themes and terrain options suck. You get 4 terrain options which means only 4 park layouts when building your own park. For the base game, they don't give you much to work with without purchasing a few of the DLCs and even then your options are Space, Viking, Mythology, Witchy, or Toys. There might be one or two that I missed, but these will be the main ones you get to work with. 6. The power system is crappy. I see what they were trying to do by making you build generators and water stations and such, but the way it's executed feels awful. If you place a generator anywhere, it tanks the scenery bonus of anything it's near, unless you're willing to meticulously hide it with scenery. 7. WTF is this UI? Overall, do I regret buying this game? Ehhhhh, maybe. I got it during summer sale so it's not the worst thing. This game feels like Frontier tried to modernize Roller Coaster Tycoon, but refuse to take community feedback and is a money hungry company still. Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo suffered from many of the same issues and tho this is a slight improvement from those, it's still a massive downgrade from Roller Coaster Tycoon because it feels like it's missing the spirit and polish.
Worst. UI. Ever. They really looked at the existing product and thought: "How can we actively ♥♥♥♥ this up?". Placing anything is extremly painful. Coasterparts will refuse to build because "Autotunnel" is active - at 20m in the air. You waste hours configuring personel. Trying to build a rollercoaster and touch a specific part to update or change it feels like a chore in blender for which you need a tutorial. I'd rather stick to Parkitect...
As a Huge, HUGE fan of Planet Coaster 1 (300+ Hours), it pains me to say the game lacks the soul the first one did. Sure it has funny characters, a moderately wide array of coasters to choose from. The water aspect is nice. But that's pretty much what It has going for it. When I read on the reviews saying there are no mods, that means there are NO MODS AT ALL. On a sequel to a game that had almost as many mod features as skyrim or cities: skylines 1... I don't know why these companies are deciding to make modding impossible on the new games, but it needs to come to a stop. NOW. I'd give two thumbs down just for that, but the game should have been a waterpark DLC. Even on sale it's simply not worth it.
