great game
Edit: The Developer has start updating the game to make it ultimately worse, it's an unfinished mess with even more bugs now and the excitement written down below I had than doesn't at all seem justified. The Developer of this game is a really unreliable as far as working on the game goes. If you're reading this, my advice is to not get invested in new projects once your old(and very populair) ones aren't finished. I might update this review if this game ends up being good, that will probarbly take a couple of years on this pace, if ever. Old review: Excited to see the developer is on it again, this game needs some work, but somewhere in there is an absolute gem that since hasn't been repeated elsewhere.

Loved this game! End-game was a bit unrewarding and buggy in places, but still did several runs because building pirates ships is just cool :) And it was cheap ;) That said, bit hard to recommend at its current state and price point. The price went up a lot somewhere past days, and while some bugs were fixed and some other quality of life stuff added, i still think the mid to end game could be a bit more expanded. So slightly hesitant "Yes" for now. but if the dev keeps his promise and does indeed work on it for the next 6 months and adds stuff like more random encounters and building your own outposts, then it will be a solid yes!
worst 14 minutes of my life...
Dev came back and is now actively fixing bugs and adding new stuff and QoLs. Game is already fun but the improvements means a lot.
Bilbotlaggin's LagFree Review: Ahoy, matey! After 25+ hours of sailing the Pixelated Seas, I can confidently say Pixel Piracy is the most fun I've had watching my crew poop on the deck since...well, ever. I’ve been with this game since its humble beginnings—back when your pirates were more likely to swordfight each other over a banana than actually follow orders. But like a fine rum, it’s aged surprisingly well. The dev has patched, polished, and occasionally duct-taped this quirky gem into a charming, chaotic pirate sim that’s equal parts strategy, survival, and slapstick. Buy the DLC if you want to support the Dev. Highlights of my voyage: Trained a crew of hardened sea dogs, only to watch them all drown because I forgot to build a ladder. Spent 10 minutes customizing my Pirate Ship, then immediately got sunk by a crab. Hired a legendary swordsman who died instantly to a seagull. A FREAKING SEAGULL. Accidentally taught my captain how to cook instead of how to fight. He now makes a mean fish stew but panics in combat. The game is a delightful mess of micromanagement, RNG chaos, and Pixelated charm. It’s not perfect—sometimes the AI is dumber than a barrel of barnacles—but that’s a bunch of the humor and the fun. If you enjoy games where your biggest enemy is your own poor planning (and maybe the occasional sea monster), this one’s for you. Final Verdict: Come for the Pixelated Pirate Fantasy, stay for the poop jokes and mutinies. 9/10, would get scurvy again.
Developer is working hard to make the game a lot more expansive than what it was left in.
