Pixel Piracy

Amazing game!

Dev with questionable history gets screwed over by Alex Poyski, returns to deliver some updates after years of inactivity and leaves again. Not sure what the moral of the story is but make of it what you will. Just don't expect more updates.

Enjoyed this! Looks like typical 'old-school' LoZ style game, but the story lines, humour, and brutality come through nicely--thumbs up!

I really love this game, it's simple and easy, with a fun gameplay style. It is essentially like the old GBC game Pirates, except you have elements of customisation with regards to your ship, crew, skills and weapons as well as talents. I think this game had HUGE potential and could have taken off in a big way. it's really fun if you like light-hearted roguish piracy and pixel art, and want something easy and fun to play then this is perfect for you. Edit: Glad to see the Dev is back and pushing bug fixes and updates for this game. I would love to see an upgraded sequel!

This game is pretty old as far as standards go at this point. Originally there were 2 devs for this game, one was caught selling stolen keys, drama ensued, it was abandoned and unfinished at some point in 2016 with a dev that many described as toxic. Fast forward to 2023, Vitali Kirpu has sorted out the legal issues, taken sole development of the game, and rolled out a dozen patches - officially bringing the game to the best place its ever been. -EDIT 2025- I actually came back and edited this review after trying to 100% this game. This game is a buggy mess that is super frustrating to play at times. As wide as an ocean but as deep as a puddle. The code is spaghetti. For $15, the dev must be insane still asking that much. This should be the type of game you play for free on a flash site.
