Speedrun focused platformer, one that reminds me a lot of the old days of flash games. It looks simple (way too simple) but the later levels start introducing different mechanics that makes it interesting and challenging. There's also movement tech with the dash and jump, adding to the complexity, and is really fast to retry the levels. It does feel kind of slippery, you don't know which way the cube is facing when not moving and some inputs either don't register or are not precise. Even so, it's enjoyable, a pretty okayish experience.
It's a straightforward 2D platformer where you can compete in leaderboards for the best times, see ghosts of other players, and download their replays. I tried the demo a while back and thought it was okay, but today, I bought the full game and was pleasantly surprised by the variety and number of levels. The gameplay is pretty challenging, with precise combos of jumps and dashes, plus features like grabbing and throwing boxes to activate switches. It has manual checkpoints to avoid restarting the whole level if you die, though the clock keeps ticking. Graphics aren't great and look more like a prototype, but if you can get past that, it's a satisfying and smooth game, also there is a demo that weighs almost nothing, a good option if you have doubts.

Pixel Dash takes a lot of inspiration from the popular game "Celeste" and it honestly, does it really well. The movement is solid, flows well, and just feels very intuitive. The look of the game is not exactly "Stunning", but its minimalist approach definitely doesn't take anything away from the core of the game and can be quite charming. The developer even added the ability to change the color template of the game in case you're tired of looking at yellow the whole time, which is a huge plus! You have your basic wave dashes, neutral wall jumps, and dash refresh crystal shenanigans, but there's also more you can do! In Pixel Dash, you can even super jump upward or even diagonally. This game is focused more on the "Speedrun" aspect. If you weren't ever that good at Celeste but really wanted to try and go fast, this game does just that in many cases. You get a replay upon completion that you can save and send to others, a leader-board where people can see the best times, and you can even download the top scorers replays if you wanted to see how they did a certain thing to get so much time off their record that you were missing! This was definitely inspired by Track-Mania's replay system, and it works very well for this type of game surprisingly! Some of the levels designs can be tricky, but figuring out how to get through them quickly is all just a part of the big picture. If you want something fun and worth a good few dollars, definitely try this game. You won't regret it!
